Because Bella Poarch who is a TikTok star, has a tattoo that is clearly inspired by the Japanese rising sun, which is like Japan's version of the swastika during World-War-II.

Bella Poarch has Filipino ancestry and she moved to Hawaii at the age of 13. I'm making it clear that she got the tattoo in Hawaii, not in the Philippines.

South Korean netizens noticed her tattoo and got offended by it… however some of them went way overboard and attacked Filipinos and the Philippines as a whole, spouting racist comments despite the fact that it was only this individual's fault… and she didn't even got the tattoo here in the Philippines.

Filipino netizens, obviously got offended as well, especially at the Koreans who claimed that they "never forget about history"… because they clearly forgot that the Philippines helped them during the Korean war.

Bella responded by saying that the tattoo is considered "art" in Hawaii, though I thought that they would be "more sensitive" about it over there because of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

It is not really a big deal. Most of our people filipinos are racist to even to their own countrymen. But it should not be generalize by the whole country itself racist.

Koreans(though not all Koreans) failed to realize that Filipinos also suffered from the same fate. Anyway, most of the Filipinos have moved on already and feel less affected by that kind of toxicity in social media. Just spread love guys.
