Whe his strength had been restored, Siddhartha sat himself on a spot by the river nairanjara under a bodhi tree to meditate,
with the final determination that he would attain the answer he sought, or perish in the attempt.
In this final leg of his journey from sleep to awakening Siddhartha was assaulted by fear, temptation, discouragement, pleasure, and pride, but he overcame all thought the practice of mindfulness, insight, and equanimity.
Letting all things come and go, he went into deeper and deeper stages of meditation and realization.
By insight into the nature of existence, Siddhartha exited the world of beliefs, creeds and myths, and attained tje great awekening. He became a buddha.
