When many people started getting their video channels deleted, I decided to really dig into some alternative platforms. One of them was LBRY, a truly decentralized video platform where content can't be deleted.

This is what happened:

- I now earn more on LBRY than YT

- LBRY 29k subs vs YT 36k

- Slightly less views per video on LBRY

- No videos are demonetized on LBRY

- My videos aren't taken down on LBRY

just an fyi, your audio is out of sync on both LBRY and YT; but Paul's seems to be okay, not sure how that's even possible .. super curious 🧐

Yeah I have noticed that in my live streams, it's an issue with the camera I'm using, it's a higher workload to process the footage and my computer doesn't seem to be able to handle it :S

Well done.
LBRY has some few philosophical issues
which have suppressed my interest
but they are a real contender against the follies of whoTube .

LBRY is currently on top of everything.
In the beginning there were some moments when I considered investing.
But then they had a bad moment and lost my interest.
At that time I simply shrugged my shoulders and moved on.
LBRY moved on as well, and they have overcome that issue, for now.

The most difficult task of doing something like LBRY is
committing to being, as https://lbry.com/faq spells out, censorship-resistant
and not losing that grip when others assail you.
Being 'king of the hill' makes them target #1 for entities with unpleasant intentions.
One of their problems that will never go away
is spelled out very well on their 'about' page
https://archive.fo/Xy6Rn -> "Combating The Ugly"
and this is what I remembered triggered my retreat:
They can never define 'Ugly".
That definition is left to 'Authorities'.
The reason to be wary is that
there is no way to appease the monstrous entities that are destroying YouTube.
As long as LBRY can refrain from defining Ugly as
'something someone chose to let themselves imagine others might be offended by'
then LBRY will remain our very best hope for open media.
