Many of us must have come across legends and tales of the man called buddha. But only few of us know about the great man that walked the earth to preach the path to enlightenment.
Who was Buddha
Buddha was never really his name, he was formally know as Siddharth gautama. He was the son of a king of the present day Nepal, when he was born, a safe predicted that he will become a great king that will unite the whole world together or a spiritual leader.
Well as Siddharth grew up in the palace he never lacked anything and also his father make sure he was given everything he ever wanted, since his parent wanted him to become a great king, so they tried to prevent him from seeing the suffering of the outside world.
Well like the saying going, destiny can only be delayed but it can never be tampered with.
At the age of 29,on a rare outing from his luxurious palace, Siddharth saw a sick man, an old man and a dead person, he became worried that he could not save all his loved ones from these three things that all humans must face.
The next morning the prince walked past a meditator who sat in deep absorption. When their eyes met and their minds linked, Siddhartha stopped, mesmerized. In a flash, he realized that the perfection he had been seeking outside must be within mind itself. Meeting that man gave the future Buddha a first and enticing taste of mind, a true and lasting refuge, which he knew he had to experience himself for the good of all.
These is how Siddharth Started his journey of enlightenment.
So he decided to leave his palace in the middle of the night, to dearth for the path to enlightenment. For the next 6yrs Siddharth was mastering the aspect of meditation and also the mind, then he realised that the teacher he had meet on the road are only showing him the potential of the mind but not the mind it self, so he went to seat under a bodhi tree and decided to know mind true nature, for six straight day the Buddha meditated until he finally Understand the mind true nature and he was enlightened, it was at that moment he became the Buddha(the enlightened one) and from that he went through out ancient Indian to preach about the noble path to enlightenment and how to end suffering.
