Is Government Always Trying To Control You?

There is a lot of debate as to whether the government is trying to control you. There are conspiracy theorists that believe that this is happening, and others that don't think they're even capable of doing such a thing! Today we will be looking at some examples of government control over the years and exploring what it means for us as consumers and citizens.

We're all familiar with what happened in the Prohibition era. And just like during that time, there are still people today who believe that the government is trying to control us through things like bribery or threats. The only difference, however, is that no one has caught them doing it yet!

It seems outrageous to think that the government would try and control you when they know full well how much attention everything they do gets! But regardless of whether you think this is happening or not, there are certain things in life where we could benefit from having someone else make decisions for us.

One example would be healthcare, although some might argue against it believing that this should be available to everyone regardless of their financial situation. While others feel safer knowing before something bad happens that they won't be left dealing with the consequences of an accident or illness.

Another example would be "sin taxes". These are things like cigarettes and alcohol, which might seem harmless but still have a large number of people who are negatively impacted by them resulting in higher healthcare costs for everyone else. This is one example where some may argue that you are being controlled over something as simple as smoking! And while others believe it's the right thing to do to help prevent future health issues at least until we can find out how to deal with these problems ourselves.

This brings up another good point though, if someone has made a bad decision then should other people have to suffer because of it? For people, their first reaction would be no but then you get into questions like what about the rights of the unborn child that cannot speak for itself? And how do you determine exactly when someone else's life has had more value than another's?

If you look at some of the things where people believe the government is trying to control them, it becomes easier to come up with examples on both sides. But does this mean that they shouldn't have any control over us whatsoever? Or are there certain situations in life where we would benefit from having someone else make our decisions for us?

What are your thoughts on the government controlling you? Thanks for reading
