Search engine optimization (SEO) is a broad term for the process of affecting the visibility of a website or a web page in a search engine's unpaid results which is often referred to as "natural," "organic," or "earned" results. In general, the higher a website appears in the list of results (i.e. higher ranked on the search result page), and the more frequently it is seen by Google's users, the more people will visit it.

In order to get high ranking, you need to focus on three areas: relevance, authority, and trustworthiness.

Relevance means having content that closely matches what people are looking for when they use your keywords.

Authority means being an expert who can teach others about your topic.

Trustworthiness is being reliable, accurate, and honest so that people know they can rely on you.

Content is King! But design is also important to increase chances for inbound links but as long as the content on your website itself isn’t meant to bring traffic or not optimized it won't mean anything to google or any search engine.

If what you are writing is really good, chances are other people will link to it naturally as they write articles that talk about the same topic and want to include links. This is how Google works and why we call it a search engine because it “searches” for what people are looking for.

Anything that moves your website higher in the list of results can lead others who write on the same subject to link to your article or site which increases your results and leads more visitors.

It is therefore important that you produce high quality content, preferably unique content so do not plagiarize from anywhere else online!

Your authority in this area grows with every piece of quality content you publish online because you have established yourself as an expert in your industry.

In this article you will read about:

  • Why SEO is important for traffic

  • Tactics and techniques for getting ranked on the first page of Google - How to use keywords effectively?

First, let’s discuss why it is so important to get visibility on the Internet when you have a website or blog. It stands that if people can find your site easily, they are more likely to visit it often and even become a part of your target audience as customers/followers.

If people cannot find you today, chances are they may never be aware of what you offer or might not even know who you are at all! This is why we need different tactics that help us increase our visibility and rank higher on search engine results for keywords relevant to our business.

SEO is extremely important because when people get the chance to see your website, they might even be able to find something that helps them solve a problem or answer a question.

It’s more likely they look up information about where you are located or what services you offer if you have products in various locations.

How do we ensure that this happens? Google has a lot of different ways to determine the authority of websites online which is why we need tactics and techniques to stay ahead as far as possible and rank high on the first page of Google for our target keywords.

If someone who is looking for information about your service types in phrases, such as “towing service in boston” as opposed to “towing,” you want to be sure that when they search for what they want, your website will rank high and bring them right there.

Tactics are techniques used to get certain results from a search engine.

For example, if someone searched on Google for “online marketing tools” then it is more likely that your blog post about SEO and internet marketing would bring them exactly where they need to go than some random local business or even a blogger who writes about other topics but has nothing to do with the process of getting traffic online. Best tactics include:

  • Writing long articles

  • Keyword research ( I will cover this part in detail in my next blog post ) and recommendations using freemium SEO tools ( like google keyword planner)

  • Link building to connect your site to other authority sites

  • Get social media and the number of social shares for each post up

  • Guest blogging on relevant websites to increase your domain authority - Creating blogs with good content that provide value

Use keywords effectively is important so you don’t waste time doing a lot of SEO work. You want keywords that are easy to integrate into your blog posts either naturally or strategically, where difficulty in integration has no effect on quality.

The Donts of Search Engine Optimization

If you can rank high for “keyword stuffing,”(this is abroad topic I will cover that later) then everyone else will do this as well which makes it irrelevant from an SEO perspective because Google doesn’t like repetition and spamming. At what point do people consider what you have written spam?

This is when your articles contain so much of the same word that it’s hard to read and takes away from the overall quality. Google looks for content that has been written naturally by people, not robots so keep that in mind. Example from content writer:

You may have sprinkled in some alternative wording for the phrase such as “weight loss tips for mother” or “weight loss strategies for moms.”
The article’s length is 300 words. This is an example of spammy content.
You have the keyword used too many times for the length of the article.
If the article was 1000 words, using these keyword phrases may not be a problem.
However, when you only have 300 words, you need to use that limited amount of words to explain the topic. -- example from contentwriters.com

Don't be tempted to write like this because Google will penalize you for doing things. They think you are trying to fool their algorithm.

You also don’t want keywords to bring people to your site that you don’t want there. This is known as “low-quality traffic,” where instead of people finding what they need they end up getting sent somewhere else or clicking over and over just because the article title mentions something irrelevant to what was written. Let’s look at an example:

If you have a website and constantly employ clickbait
or attention-grabbing meta descriptions that aren't relevant to your content, you might get penalized.
You might ask why- this is because you may search for
Ex. "Cheap Towing in Boston" the first page that pops up is example.com
but when you click on the page it has nothing to do with cheap towing or Boston. -- NakamotoBch

It might be seen as a scam and Google will penalize everything associated with this page so don’t make the same mistake.

Google doesn't like it when you build links to your website that aren't relevant to the topic of your page. It's also important for Google that you don't just post any old information on your site; there should be a point or message behind everything you say.

If you want your website to rank high in Google, then write great blog posts and use SEO effectively! Remember that “quality always wins over quantity” so keep that in mind when writing valuable articles people are going to benefit from. This post isn’t really for beginners but rather intermediates who have a little bit of experience when it comes to SEO.

I will be writing more about SEO in the coming day, which will include all of my strategies and expertise acquired throughout my years of experience, so stay tuned for more information!

My next article will be how to use freemium tools like Google.com, Google Keyword Planner, Niche Laboratory, and Explain the Difference Between Authority Website and Niche Website. Since Seo itself is a broad subject, I'll try my best to include all essential details in future postings.

Update: Anyone who doesn't understand a part/ section of this article especially if you have some questions let me know in the comments.
