Corona virus belong to a family of coronaviridea. It is called corona virus because of its crown like shape. This virus has four basic genera i.e alpha corona virus, beta corona virus, gamma corona virus and delta corona virus. Its official name given by the WHO is SARS Co2( severe acute respiratory syndrome corona virus 2). This virus cause a disease known as Covid 19( corona virus diease 2019).

Genome of corona virus

Its genome consists of positive sense single stranded RNA. Size of the genome is about 29 to 30kb. The whole genome contain 12 open reading frame(ORF) which has various size.

Mode of transmission

Corona virus is transmitted through different ways. Some common methods of transmission are given below

Air ,Air droplets sneezing , coughing, personal contact etc.

Symptoms of COVID 19

corona virus disease has various sign and symptoms e.g

Fever, head ache, chest pain, difficulty in breathing, lung problem

In severe case it cause brain and spinal cord problems.

Currently no vaccine and antiviral drugs are available against corona vorus
