New year, undoubtedly one of the most festive season of time. Hang out with friends, foods, watching movies and gossiping, doing the barbecue party etc. are some glimpse of new year celebration.

But not only us other mischievous persons also get active in this festive season too. They became active in social media and use new year as a bait.

In the new year Eve different types of companies, shops tries to give the best offers to its customers and the cyber hackers take this chance wisely.

Here why I'm talking all this I'll discuss everything in my article and how you can be safe from these personal information thefts.

I've already exposed a scam named WhatsApp is giving away 1000 gigabytes of internet in one of my previous articles.

If you want to keep yourself secured from the data thefts you can read it from here:

https://read.cash/@Musso/exposing-1000-gb-internet-whatsapp-scammy-experience-dont-get-fooled-56835591

WhatsApp is a very convenient and faster messaging service provider. As thousands of persons uses it so there is a hundred percent chance that hackers and thiefs are there too.

If any of their link is exposed than they try another way. It's a continuous process and only you can keep yourself safe by being careful.

Here I've encountered with another scam and I thought I should tell people know about this fraud too like the previous one.So that people can be well aware and keep themselves safe from any kind of data thefts.

As I've said those bad minded people uses festivals like New Year to attract people and to make themselves fool. We all know that companies e.g. Samsung gives a amount of discount to its customers in the occasions. So if we see discounts advertisement on the internet we tend to believe them and we become a stupid victim.

Now let me tell you my story:

Few days ago in my WhatsApp group a friend of mine forwarded a message with a link.

The message says famous mobile equipment manufacturing company Huawei is giving away smartphones and other electronic gadgets to some special customers in this new year.

If I want to claim my gift I need to click on the link. Than I see the real logo that Huawei use, that is embedded in the link.

They use the real logo to make it more trustworthy. But the most interesting fact is the in the link there is no Huawei written on it.

Just some random generated words though they used the real logo but the link is still suspicious.

After getting the message I didn't believe that message for a single moment. How can I man? After seeing the link I flagged the message.

Here is the proof that this is a fake message and the link is corrupted:

So I go to Google to find any conclusive evidence and booyah just as it thought it's a trap.

If someone knowingly or unknowingly clicked on that link they will be redirected to a new site and they will tell you that a lot of persons already claimed their prizes which must be a lie.

TechArp

So only a few quantity is left. They tell you this only to keep you more focused on tempting you. You may think as only a few quantity left, why not I try?

You've done a mistake by clicking the link and staying on that site every second is a severe mistake. Sometimes they may ask to some personal questions too.

They will give you three boxes and will tell you to open one. After winning the prize you'll not be able to claim them untill you forward the link to 20 persons at least which is a pretty old school technique.

Than you'll think I've already won a smartphone so why not sharing with others? Now you are doing the last and final worst mistake by sharing with your friends and family.

You'll never be able to claim that smartphone you may share to 100 persons. Once you shared that link more people will be a new victim just for you. We never want to do harms unintentionally shall we?

So why forwarding the fake link? I think I've made it clear to you that this is a scam and way to steal your personal data. Let's not be a fool and let's not give them chance to steal our data.

Here is how you can also keep your friends and family safe from this type scams:

1)First of all don't believe everything blindly you see on the web.

You may have trusted the link by seeing the Huawei official logo but in the end it's a fake link.

2)Don't forward any kind of stupid messages knowingly or unintentionally with someone.

If we stop forwarding the link than it is possible to stop this malpractice by the online thiefs.

3)If you see any kind of discount offer is going on than visit the official website or platform first and cross check what you are seeing and be extra careful on the events like Christmas or New year.

I think if we all are careful enough and stop sharing links to twenty persons for a fake mobile phone it is enough for a safe Internet place.

whoa another scam again. Scammers always find their way looking for innocent victims. I also recieve an envelope on Christmas and New Year forwarded by a friend but I didn't ever opened it. I'm very much careful right now as scammers will always trick us.

As you don't opened the link you are not only helping yourself but also breaking the chain. That's is what I've emphasized on. If we don't click or share with friends we can stop this. Let's be careful and don't give any chance to the scammers.❤️
