The Central Bank of Russia did not support the initiative of the Association of Developers and Users of Blockchain Technology (RACIB) to launch a project for collective mining of cryptocurrencies - "National Mining Pool" (NMP), RBC reports .
The Central Bank's Committee for the Development of the Financial Market recognized the project as inexpedient due to the high risks of laundering proceeds from crime, as well as the inconsistency of the service with the formed state policy in the field of cryptocurrency regulation.
RACIB considered the refusal to be unmotivated and sent a letter to the head of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina , which says that all the risks were checked while piloting the project in a regular "sandbox", the service completely excludes the possibility of dubious transactions and can be implemented in the existing legal framework of the Russian Federation
