A group of very brightly colored small or medium-sized birds belonging to the genus Coraciiformes. Fishes are found almost all over the world except Antarctica. They are most widespread in the Old World and Australasia. There are three genera in this subclass. The genera are Alcedinidae (Gang fish), Halcyonidae (tree fish) and Cerylidae (Pan fish). About 90 species of fish are found all over the world. , Have short legs and short tails. Most of the fishes are brightly colored and have little difference in males and females. Most of the fishes live in the equatorial region and a large part of them are found only in the forest. There are fish all over the place. They usually dive from the branches to catch fish in the water. Other prey includes insects, frogs, reptiles, birds and even small mammals. Like the Nassab members, the fishermen also nest in holes. Usually they build their nests in the holes on the steep banks of the water bodies. Several species of island fisherfolk are considered to be globally endangered.
