Defination.

The lipids are the organic compounds which are insoluble in the water but soluble in the ether chlorofrm.

Explantion..

The contain long chains of aliphatic hydrocarbon or benzene ring in their molecules .the lipids are non polar and hydrophobic water phobobs fear they are important constituents of the cellular membrances hormones and vitamints of the cell they also form of the source of energy for the cell.

Simple lipids..

Compound lipids.

(1)simple lipids.

These are the esters of the alchois they are formed by the fatty acids and alcohols.

Compound lipids..

The compound lipids contain fatty acids alcohols and other compound as phosphours amino nitrogen carbohydrates etc in their molecular.
