This act of neglect is known as the "Silent Treatment". This silent treatment is an attitude where you ignore or silence someone by refusing to talk to them and pretending they don't exist.

This action is included in the toxic behavior that should be avoided. In fact, this silent treatment is categorized as a form of emotional violence. Because, indirectly, this action can provide psychological punishment that causes someone to suffer. The impact is indeed not in the form of physical injuries, but psychological wounds that disturb the peace of mind and soul of those who experience them.

Based on my own experience, the effects of this action are very painful. When I experienced this, I was confused about what to do, so that my feelings became erratic. There was sadness, anger, hurt, disappointment, confusion, there was even a feeling of wanting to scream in his face and tell him to start talking back to me.

This silent treatment also does not rule out the possibility of a person experiencing depression and frustration caused by a great feeling of guilt, confusion, and not knowing how to solve everything, because they do not get any response.

Some people may think that by doing silent treatment, the problem will be solved soon. In fact, indirectly this silent treatment is an act of self-avoidance. Because in some problems, silence is not the solution. Even though there are indeed some problems that make silence the best way to avoid both parties saying things that will hurt and cause regret in the future. Someone may also do this because they don't know how to express what they feel.

In fact, the best thing in solving a problem is not being silent, ignoring, or blaming the other party. However, providing space for mutual introspection, listening to each other's complaints, and forgiving each other, communication also plays an important role here.

So, if you have a problem, then talk about it. You don't want this painful feeling to happen to you, right?
