In today's busy and digitally connected social life, having a friend seems to be everyone's goal. Close friends can provide important support, joy, and a sense of attachment in our lives. But there is also an argument that friendlessness may be a better choice for some individuals.

This article that I wrote this time will explore this perspective and discuss some of the advantages that those who choose to live without friends like me might have. Among them:

• Independence and deeper self-understanding

Not having friends can provide an opportunity for someone to focus more on himself. With a lack of external influence, the person is able to develop strong independence and learn what they really want and need in life. Without the influence of friends, a person has the freedom to explore personal interests, develop new hobbies and spend time in self-examination. This process can help a person gain a deeper understanding of who they really are.

• Free from drama and conflict between friends

Friendship does not always run smoothly. Sometimes there will be fights, conflicts or even betrayal among friends. Not having friends means not getting caught up in that kind of drama or conflict. A person living without friends can avoid the excess stress and tension that often occur in social relationships. They can focus on personal growth without being distracted by potentially detrimental social interactions.

• Free in making decisions

Not having friends means not having to consider other people's opinions or preferences when making decisions. One can plan their life according to personal desires and ambitions without having to compromise or consider the interests of others. Decisions taken will be completely based on personal needs and opinions which can help individuals achieve their goals more effectively.

• Focus on personal and professional growth

In a busy life, maintaining friendships takes a significant amount of time and energy. By not having friends, individuals can fully allocate their resources towards personal and professional growth. One can focus on education, career, or other self-development without being distracted by social demands. This can lead to higher achievement in their pursuit and accelerate their overall development.

• Reducing the potential for emotional vulnerability and dependence

Close friendships often involve emotional dependence and vulnerability. When a person has close friends, they may feel emotionally attached and called upon to provide support in certain situations. Not having friends can reduce the potential for such emotional vulnerability and dependency. Individuals can develop their own internal strengths and learn to face life's challenges with more independent strength.

• Opportunity to build deeper relationships

Even if you don't have friends, that doesn't mean the person will live in complete isolation. On the contrary, they can take advantage of opportunities to build deeper relationships with the people they meet in their life's journey. Without limitations or reliance on a single group of friends, they are able to forge more authentic relationships with a variety of people from different backgrounds. This can provide a wider perspective and open the door for unexpected friendships.

So, that's the article I made this time. While society often encourages the importance of having friends, not having friends is not something to be considered a failure or a lack. For some people (myself included), life without friends can bring benefits such as independence, deeper self-understanding, freedom from drama and conflict, and a greater focus on personal and professional growth.

As I mentioned above, not having friends can also open the door to more authentic and diverse relationships with those around them. Everyone has different social preferences and needs, and choosing not to have friends does not mean loneliness or solitude, but rather a conscious choice to live life according to personal values and goals. What do you think? let me know in the comments.
