Obstacles On The Road As An Courier And Online Driver

Every job must have obstacles, whether it's obstacles in the office or on the road. All the obstacles that we experience must have levels. From those that can still be overcome to obstacles that really make us unable to work ourselves. Yup, this very serious obstacle is very annoying, especially an courier or online driver.

Couriers or online drivers always experience unexpected fate when looking for orders or delivering orders. Then, what are the obstacles experienced by online couriers and drivers when carrying out their duties? These are some of the obstacles that I often encounter as a courier and friends of online drivers:

• Punctures

This is the first obstacle that is very annoying but can be overcome, namely a punctured tire. We cannot predict this constraint while running the task. This punctured tire usually occurs when you accidentally run over a sharp object such as a nail or other pointed object.

If you use an inner tube like the picture above, what often happens is a smooth leaking tire. That is, the inner tube has a leak with only a small wound. Although this is still a common problem, sometimes it takes a long time when the repair shop is queuing up. And this leads to wasted time and fear of getting impatient and chatty customers, we get a bad rating.

• engine breaks down

Diseases like this are often experienced by some people who have vehicles that are old (including me). When we are on duty to deliver orders to customers or take passengers to a place and suddenly the motorcycle breaks down, then this problem will be very inconvenient. The reason is that some online drivers or couriers don't understand machines. So those who experience a broken motor must go far to find the nearest repair shop to solve this problem.

We are grateful when the motorcycle breaks down after delivering an order or after dropping off a passenger, if the motorcycle breaks down while delivering an order or taking a passenger, this is where the feeling becomes uncomfortable.

But most of the customers now understand this problem and understand this kind of incident. Usually, there are online drivers who dare to free their service fees because the passengers are willing to wait.

• fuel runs out before reaching the destination

This is an obstacle that I often encounter when traveling. Those whom I often meet are couriers who get addresses that are quite far away. They usually already estimate the distance they have traveled with the remaining gas they have. But their estimates are often wrong when they get an order.

Obstacles like this are still very easy to overcome when they find retail gasoline sellers on the roadside, but not for those who run out of gas and are far from retail gasoline sellers and far from gas stations. Inevitably they have to find someone who is willing to help push their motorbike to find the nearest petrol seller or gas station.

• rain and flood

This is the last obstacle that we ourselves cannot predict when it will rain and how long it will stop raining. If the rain is not so heavy, then we can get through the rain by using a raincoat. But there are some goods or passengers that cannot be taken through the rain. So, like it or not, we have to wait for the rain to finish or a little less. However, if the rain was heavy enough, it is certain that some roads will be flooded at some point.

This often happens in Indonesia when the heavy rain is over, surely at some point there will be flooding that pools. This can still be overcome if at some point there is a flood that can still be passed. But if the direction of our destination is covered by high enough flood or impassable, then the only way is to find an alternative road that is not flooded. It's just that this alternative road is usually quite far or through a fairly narrow and crowded road.

Maybe that's the only obstacle on the road that I can explain even though it's only a few obstacles. Indeed, obstacles like this are difficult to predict sometimes. So, before the problem like the one I described happens, it's a good idea to check the vehicle before work and see the situation first.
