A job that doesn't have holidays even on special days
Do you know that there are some jobs that don't have an operational holiday even though it's a big day? In Indonesia there are several jobs that do not have operational days off. In fact, they still go to work as usual even though they are currently celebrating holidays such as Independence Day, Eid or other holidays.
Even their working hours on holidays or special days are much busier than normal days. Then, what are the jobs that don't have days off? Among them:
• Gas station attendant
Gas station attendant is the first job that is always there in any day. How could it not be, gas station attendants must always serve motorists and drivers to refuel vehicles that want to travel or who want to go to work. In Indonesia itself, gas stations are always open even on holidays due to the increase in the number of vehicles on holidays.
The availability of fuel at Indonesian gas stations will always be available when holidays such as Christmas or Eid al-Fitr are approaching. And gas station attendants will continue to serve until closing time.
• Public transport employees
This one job is very much needed when approaching holidays or other big days. Public transport jobs such as bus drivers, airplane pilots, ships and trains are highly demanded to serve people who want to travel or return to their hometowns.
Just before the holidays, the number of travelers is far beyond the number of trips from normal days. And that is why work in the field of public transportation in Indonesia is one of the busiest sectors when entering holidays or holidays. And employees have to work harder or work overtime to serve community trips.
• Security officer
Yup, there's no doubt that a security guard is a job that doesn't have days off, even on holidays. In Indonesia, security officers will not get an allotted day off if it is entering a big day such as Hari Raya, Independence Day and other days. Because their role is to maintain the safety of the community's travel and maintain the security of strategic locations so that the community is always safe from any incident.
In order to maintain security, they will work 24 hours every day if it is entering the holidays. That is why the police and army in Indonesia rarely get a day off when entering a holiday.
• Health workers
And the last job that doesn't get time off is health workers. Working in the primary care sector, such as health centers and hospitals, must be prepared to sacrifice time to serve the community, especially patients.
That is why even though Idul Fitri holidays, professions such as doctors, midwives, nurses to ambulance drivers still have to be on standby. Sometimes picket schedules are also arranged in rotation.
So, those are some jobs that don't get allotted holidays during holidays or other holidays. There are many other jobs that don't get time off, and they are really required to work harder to serve the community so they get better service.
Do any of you work in the community service sector as I described? Tell me in the comments.
