WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?

Our society is full of negative vibes and there is need for a restructuring but who will restructure a spoilt system. 

Before you judge, let me tell you a story.

This all happened in my first year in school. Everyone believes that the first year in higher institutions will be for some subjects that you have been taught in your secondary schools though they will be called courses at higher institutions.

I also experienced same feeling but there was this lone cause that cause commotion in my department. If you are an accounting students, you should probably offer that course. It is titled "basic mathematics for social science" even the political science students and economics will offer it but it might be at different level.The course was expected to be basics but it was advanced even to me because we are meant to prove principles in mathematics and that course is that talk of the town then. The lecturer in charge is another disciplinarian.

We sat for the exam and before the result was pasted, the lecturer is to take us another course titled macroeconomics but in his first class during the second semester, he said, "your class has impressed me very well, you are the first set of students that will offer the course and pass very well"

That was an encouragement but when the result was released, about 30% of the class failed with more than 60%  were struggling with C and D because grade E was not allowed  for university student again.

I was fortunate to be among the 10% that was satisfied with their result and I also had my first high score in the course.

How time fly, I was now in 200 and I applied as a tutor for my department's association and I chose same course as my preferred course. I passed the test and was interviewed. I was given the role.

I was able to motivate and teach others and the failure rate reduced, I did not change my preferred course during my time as a tutor but I will rather teach another new set of students that is about offer the course.

Why did I tell you this

Don't complain about the environment again but look for what you can do to change your environment. Be the change that you want and don't expect the environment to change if no one stand for the change.
