SELF-LOVE, THE FIRST STEP TO LOVING OTHERS

The most important thing to do before giving love to others is to love yourself first. Self-love is the first stage of love sharing. Before you can share love, you have to love and have confidence in yourself first because you can't give what you don't have. If you can't love yourself then it would be very difficult for you to extend any form of love to others. Self-love is the requirement you need before you begin to love others.

Sometimes, people mistaken self-love for ego and arrogance. Of course, there is a certain level self-love will get to and it will begin to look like arrogance. People who compare themselves to others and have the belief that they are somewhat better than others are literally going overboard with self-love. Self-love is not about always trying to be right or always making yourself the victim thereby putting yourself first - at the center, at the expense of others.

Self-love is about you striving to win and at the same time making way for others to win. In life, there are a lot of people who rely on you for happiness or other things, but the fact is if you don't have it yourself, you can't give to others. It is almost impossible to give what you don't have unless you will borrow from others. Self-love is about looking inwardly, knowing the real you, and knowing your value and ability.

Self-love makes you feel at peace with yourself. Most people would love to stay around you when they see what you've got. You can't abandon your needs and tend to others' needs. Don't be too concerned about others that you forget yourself, even the Bible says "love your neighbor as yourself". Before you give love, first have a love for yourself. Then you can start spreading love and reaching out to others.
Self-love is not all about yourself alone, but it starts with you. The more you love yourself, the more everything and everyone you come across benefits. After God's love which is the greatest and undiluted love, the love you have for yourself is the next. Love yourself first, then reach out to others
