Communication is an exchanging of information or news of two or more people.

To a leader it is important to be understand by his/her members and of course to be understand by the people around them when they are presenting their plans, ideas and objectives for the whole year or month.

So let's talk about the ways that will help us to improve our communication skills.

✔️ Learn the Basics of Nonverbal Comminication

As a leader or a communicator we must know that there are people or audiences who understand you more through your physical cues. We must know how to communicate not only through words but also to our actions.

✔️ Avoid Relying on Visual Aids

When you present you must be ready at all cost. Prepared your self, specially your mind. You must know what you were saying. Practice to talk without being pressure by the audiences. Use only an visual aids if necessary. And put only the important words to your visual aids.

✔️ Ask for Honest Feedback

Asking for a feedback is very important cause it will help us to know what we needed to improve and what we needed to avoid in our next presentation. Don't feel hurt if one of the audiences give a bad feedback treat it as a motivation or goal to accomplish.

✔️ Engage the Audience in Discussion

Learn how to properly ask a questions to your audiences. Prepare a part that is for question and answer. The discussions must not only revolves on you, let them talk and shared their ideas. Because through that you will learn also.

✔️ Starts and End with Key Points

Before you present you must show the objectives of your presentations to caught the attention of your audiences and also for them to have a guidelines during the presentations. And in the ending you must summarize all of your topics. Because not all audiences can absorb all what you said in your presentation. Always do a Recap.

✔️ Master the Art of Timing

In a 1 hour discussion, your audiences might fell a sleep if you are too boring. As a presentor you must know how to caught the attention of your audiences in every seconds that pass. Learn to be energetic and used some jokes that accurates to your topic. Also know when do you need to move on to the next topic or when to reiterate an idea.

✔️ Get to know your Audiences

To communicate effectively, you must get to know your audiences. Every audiences are different and there's a different preferences and cultural norms that needs to be considered when you are communicating.

✔️ Be a listener

According to what Richard Branson says "Listen more than you talk" to be a good presentor you must be a good listener. Listen to what they wanted to say. Listen to their ideas.

So in conclusion, communicating is hard when you are not clear to each other. When one of the person engaged in a communication didn't understand the topic, the whole communication will failed. Learn to listen to each other for better understanding. Think of the words you would say before delivering it.
