Effects of Poverty in Someone's life

One of the main problems in the Philippines is poverty which is the root of everything and reason why a lot of people choose to make a wrong action and decision rather than to do it in a proper and legal way. There are lot of people committing crimes every day and part of that is the minors who called them “batang hamog” According to Doan Foranta (Social Welfare and Development Officer) “ they are the children in conflict with the law meaning these children may have problems with the law but it doesn’t necessarily mean they are guilty of the offense charged against them”, they have been committed offenses which is a petty crimes and is lighter rather than those who committed crime in a legal age. It should give a definite action by the government to loose and resolve this problem, not only the government but the person who is involve of letting those children steal anywhere they should be responsible for that, it should be the role of the parents to give their children a better life, to give its basic rights and that is having education, and they should enjoying their childhood not with stealing and should learn how to discipline their children and teach them to become a better individual and to do things in a right way. There are lot and different reasons which triggered and leads the minors to do bad things and to do what is against in the law and what is against to its moral values, but for them it is the right thing to do, due to hunger and nothing to eat all they need is to survive their day to day living and to put something in their stomach which makes them alive.

Those children are just a victim of how cruel our society is and how they have been affected by their broken families which molds their personality and their habit to have just easily steal when they feel hungry. According to the Psychological Association of the Philippines (PAP), this means that changes in areas of the brain, which are responsible for impulse control, decision-making, regulating emotions, and evaluating risks and rewards are still taking place. Unlike adults, children are less able to consider and understand the long-term consequences of their actions. Meaning the thinking of the children or the minors is not even matured, they didn’t know yet if their actions is right or wrong, and children might easily influence by the other people and adapt the environment that they are belong, what they see is what they believe, what they think is right and what they do. Children should have enough guidance, moral and financial support that comes most especially to their parents who should be their first teacher.
