In the Philippines there's a lot of different superstition that some Filipinos believe in. Especially those people who born in 90's below. My parents says that those superstitions are came from the people who mainly lives in a province. But it is still depends on us if we will believe in it.

So, today I'll write about some superstitions that Filipino believes in.

  • A Broken Mirror gives you seven years of Bad luck

Ancient Greece’s culture of consulting fortune tellers, called “mirror seers,” is the root of it all. People’s belief that when their reflections in a mirror, after it was dipped in water, appear distorted (which relates to a broken image), they would likely die

  • A Black cat crossing your paths is unlucky

This superstition is traced back to two era. First, the ancient Egyptians admired cats and considered it as good luck, but once it dies, the luck is gone. The other once was during the middle ages at other parts of Europe, where they associated black cats with witches and coming across with one means that the evil is watching you.

  • The number 13 is Unlucky

Did you know that the fear of the number 13 is a legit phobia, named as “triskaidekaphobia”? Anyways, this superstition rooted from the Last Supper since Judas, the one who betrayed Jesus, was the 13th guest at the table. In addition, it also has origins in the Norse mythology saying that there were 12 gods in a dinner, and Loki, crashed and created a commotion at the dinner, making him the 13th god present at the dinner.

Those three superstitions are common to everyone but not everyone are believing in it. So, if you believe in it don't push others to believe in it too.

I hope you'll read these guys.

Thank you and God Bless!! <3
