Facebook authorities have announced the launch of a completely new section for students called 'Facebook Campus'. According to the new announcement, using it, college and university students will be able to create a completely different profile outside of the original Facebook to communicate and connect with each other. নতুন এ ঘোষণা অনুযায়ী, এটি ব্যবহার করে কলেজ ও বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় শিক্ষার্থীরা নিজেদের মধ্যে যোগাযোগ ও সংযোগ স্থাপণে মূল ফেসবুকের বাইরে সম্পূর্ণ আলাদা একটি প্রোফাইল তৈরি করতে পারবেন। যেখানে ব্যবহার করতে হবে কলেজ ইমেইল অ্যাড্রেস ও স্নাতকের শিক্ষাবর্ষ। যদিও মূল ফেসবুক অ্যাকাউন্ট থেকেই প্রবেশ করা যাবে ফেসবুক ক্যাম্পাসে, যা অনেকটা ফেসবুক ওয়াচের মতোই।

ফেসবুক ক্যাম্পাসে আরও থাকছে কলেজ ও বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় বিষয়ক আলাদা নিউজফিড, যা বিভাগ ও অনুষদ ভেদে হবে ভিন্ন ভিন্ন। শুধু তাই নয়, এখানে শিক্ষার্থীরা ক্যাম্পাস বিষয়ক ইভেন্ট খুলতে পারবেন যেখানে কেবল তার বিভাগ বা অনুষদের ছাত্রছাত্রীরাই প্রবেশ করতে পারবেন। থাকছে ‘ক্যাম্পাস চ্যাট’ নামে রিয়েল টাইম চ্যাটের সুবিধাও।

উল্লেখ্য, ২০০৪ সালে ঠিক এমন একটি ফিচার নিয়েই ‘দ্য ফেসবুক’ নামে যাত্রা শুরু করে তৎকালীন ক্যাম্পাস নির্ভর ওয়েবসাইট ‘ফেসবুক’। পরবর্তীতে যা উন্মুক্ত করা হয় বিশ্বের সব নাগরিকের জন্য।
