The Bible is one of the greatest gifts given to us by God. It serves as a guidance and life to all people here on Earth. It serves as a compass to direct us into living a godly life. Why God gave us the Bible?
God has always been trying to speak to Man. From the beginning, as Creator he has been trying to reach our hearts through his creation which surrounds us. Now he has given us his own Word in form of the Bible, to communicate with us, to develop a relationship with us, and to prepare us for that inevitable meeting with him.
What the Bible does?
1. The Bible will light your way in the dark world. Our world we are living is dark spiritually. Jesus said, "I am the light of the world". He who follows Christ and abide by his words will never walk in darkness, instead he will become a light of God to crush down every darkness. The word of God helps us to live accordingly and be a light for us in all of our paths.
2. The Bible will convince you of your need for a Savior. The Bible help us to understand that all of us are sinners and have fall short of the glory of God. Nevertheless, it provides us with the only way to be saved by the Same, Jesus Christ. The Bible will help us to understand that our self righteousness can never take us far as we need the saving grace of God to be called God's children.
3. The Bible will present Jesus Christ to you in his wonderful life, sacrificial death on the cross for your sins, triumphant resurrection from the dead, and glorious ascension as a Man Into heaven. All these are some of the interesting truths about our faith. Jesus is not just some folklore which did not exist. He came into the earth to die for our sins so that we might need free from the shackles of sins and death. You will want to trust him as your Lord and savior.
4. The Bible will tell you how to obtain everlasting life. "For God so loved the world that he gave us his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life" John 3:16. The Bible let us to understand the only way to have everlasting life is to accept and believe in Jesus Christ. As that's the only way to accept salvation. Salvation is free and cannot be obtained with money. It's a gift of God through Jesus Christ that all may be saved through him(Jesus Christ).
4. The Bible will show you your future. If you accept God's offer of salvation, you are going to reign with Jesus in paradise. When one of the criminals crucified with Jesus asked to be saved, Jesus told him that he will be with him the same day in paradise. The Bible also says as soon as a Christian dies he is "present with the Lord".
The Bible also warn those who reject God's offer of salvation. The lake of fire is the final destination of sinners who disobey God. The Lord is not willing that anyone should perish but that all should come into repentance. That's why it's important to do the right thing while we are still alive; at our duty posts. The grace of God is still available to help as much as possible. God does not hold grudges about our sins. Once you are ready to ask God y forgive you and make you clean he will. Take the step of faith today to make the Lord as the master and Savior of your life.
