How does it feel not to feel anything? To be emotionally empty. To let the feelings flow.
The feeling of nothingness is the same as feeling empty and emotional. You may feel empty, or you may not. Either way, there is no feeling.
I can't feel any emotions. This is different than being emotionally numb. An emotional numbness, on the other hand, is the situation when you don't have any feelings. It's kind of hard to express what you're feeling, because you can only say, "I feel angry." … and "I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing."
However, without feelings and emotions you can be absolutely free. Because all what you do is based on what you really need, not on "what might be good", "what you might need" or "what might be good for the others". So, leaving all the feelings behind might be a good thing. But how do you know you are still in touch with your emotions? It's up to you – you are the only person who decides what you want to feel something – pain, cold, hunger, thirst, wind or any other kind of feelings.
How do I tell if I have the feeling that I am afraid? How can I know that something is wrong? If I feel scared, I'll try to push myself away, so I'm afraid that this won't be enough. My body is more aware of what it can do. That's why when I hear someone cry or feel sad, my body feels the emotion. There is nothing that is beyond our own body. We can feel all kinds of things – if you feel like you need to cry, you will.
Why do people feel so emotional when something bad happens? When something happens, our body starts to react. Our body will have all sorts of reactions. If something good happens and you experience all of it, your body and your mind will try hard not let it go, no matter what. When you get to the end of your life, everything you experienced will be on your account. Everything. Nothing can escape it.
