Hello, I'm Moses and this is my first article in this great community. Kindly do well to read. Enjoy reading!
Looking at the Text: 2Cor. 11: 21
"To our shame I say that we were too weak for that! But in whatever anyone is bold--I speak foolishly--I am bold also” (NKJV)
How do you treat those who are struggling? Whether it's those at your work, a server at a restaurant, or a friend or family member? How you treat them tells a lot about yourself. Why is that the case? Simply because those who are struggling or are weak are not in a position to help us or pay us back. When we care for the less fortunate or minister to those who are barely hanging on, we do so knowing there is no physical benefit. The opposite is also true if we refuse to help those in need because there is no benefit for us, it helps clarify our motives.
It is unfortunate that people including Christians usually are unwilling to serve or do things for people without expecting some form of reward. We are in a world where people are seldom motivated to do things for people if they will not get any benefit in return. The rich today are not ready to help the poor unless if such help will serve their selfish intentions. We have many weak and struggling people in our society today because those who are blessed and in a position to help will just not do so unless they will get some form of recognition or benefit out of it.
In 2 Corinthians 11, Paul begins shared with us everything he endured for the sake of others. He had to do this because his motives were being questioned, and yet, he was able to clearly say that he did all that he did not to make a name for himself or to gain the admiration of people but so that lost souls can be reconciled back to God. He endured pain and various levels of hardship so that the lost would hear the good news. He never for once took advantage of them, neither did he exploit them in anyway as many are doing today.
Can we also say like the Apostle Paul that our motives are pure when we reach out to help the weak and the poor? Do we even take time at all to be concerned about the wellbeing of the weak and the poor or are we just concerned about ourselves alone? Today is the day to look around for those who may be weak, poor or hurting. Let's serve them with the love of Christ, no strings attached, so that they would be blessed. It may cost us something, but it is worth it in the end. Shalom

#Stay blessed
Sometimes I do ask myself, if I care enough about people. Do I offer help? Assistance? Alms? All these things should be what we think about everyday of our lives. We must learn to live by impacting others
