Problem Solving Is The Purpose Of Life
Man is a designated problem solver, so, your problems can never go away. The more you solve problems, the more you create problems.
Putting it into perspective, fixing breakfast is solving a problem, making out time for that meeting with your tailor is solving a problem, going to the butcher's market is solving a problem.
With every single decision you make in your life, you are creating a new problem by solving old ones. When you go to meet your tailor, you have solved the problem of not having that dress you love and have indeed created a problem of having to pay a certain amount for it, having to iron it, and having to get it washed after wearing it.
It all flies past you because you haven't paused for a moment to think about it. Problem solving is what we live for.
If you happen to get everything you ever wanted right now, chances are high that you are gonna fall into depression in a couple of months, because then, your life becomes purposeless.
We keep sane by chasing purpose, thus solving problems. It doesn't matter if that purpose serves any true benefit to us or the universe in the grand scheme of things, as long as it is the reason we wake up in the morning and start strategizing.
Someone out there is aiming to have the biggest biceps in the world. Someone else may be aiming to have the most muscular neck. These things do not matter in the grand scheme of things, but they are goals and purposes that keep these people going.
No Purpose Is Useless
I believe that every single thing happening right now in our lives and in life generally serves to maintain a balance. There are seemingly very important goals and purposes like being a Doctor, a police officer, a fireman because these vocations actually serve a tangible purposes in the society.
Then there are seemingly some unimportant purposes that may not have any true benefit like being a bodybuilder, a sprinter, a footballer. I mean, the human civilization can manage without these things, but yet, they are such important fields of the human society. But why?
While some purposes sustain life, others nourish the soul and makes life more colorful and worth living.
Imagine what it'd feel like if after being in close proximity with blood, death and agony all day, the doctor has no place to unwind and clear his mind of all the pressure from work.
Imagine not having to go to the gym, not having to go watch your favorite music band, not going to watch your favorite sport? Life would be bland and uninteresting.
Personal Purposes Create Solutions To Inexistent Problems.
Sometimes, we get some crazy ideas spring to our minds, these ideas aren't already existing in the world, but we can already imagine it in the world, working to ease off a certain human inconvenience, and just like that, something comes to life and gets generally adopted.
I imagine when Mark Zuckerberg was designing Facebook, he just wanted to create something where people can connect with other, I mean, mostly long and short distanced friendship. It served that purpose almost instantly after it's inception but it has become even much more than that.
It has become a means of information dissemination, keeping in touch with friends and loved ones and also a means of conducting business as well as advertising products. I doubt Mark intended all these for Facebook when he started out.
Just Breathe & Create Something
Haven't you seen people making money and fame from doing the stupidest things and you say to yourself "I could do that, I have even thought about that". Yeah?
The difference between you and these people is, they have the guts to let the thoughts in their head materialize into tangibles.
Sometimes, an idea comes to us and we visualize ourselves carrying out these ideas and we think we are too big to be found in that situation. We think certain things are too lowly for us, then we see those same ideas raising people into a far better position than we currently are, and we feel like shit afterwards.
Just breath and create. The idea behind this piece is to let you know that, problems don't go away, we are just perpetual solution machines, we humans. So, in order for your current problem not to weigh on you too much, create a solution, the solution may not help you, but it can help others.
I have been thinking of creating a YouTube channel, but I haven't figured out what content to create yet. This piece is also to motivate myself to let go of ego and just push on. Answers are out there.
