1,126 killed, 380 abducted in 7 northern states - New report reveals - Naij

Amnesty Inter'l in a new report claims that not less than 1,126 people have lost their lives since the beginning of the year. This news appeared on Naij.com

Amoung the number of those killed this year in Northern Nigeria was the video of Reverend father who was beheaded. The incident was filmed by the insurgents and the video was released to the public!

What a staggering figure! Over a thousand and two hundred people have lost their lives this year alone to insecurities and the insurgency in the north! The causes are well known to Nigerian observers! The solutions are politically frustrated by the ruling class to achieve the desires of a particular section of the country! The ruling Hausa/Fulani Oligarchy! The politicisation of the insurgency in Nigeria is glaring!

Islamic state west African province ISWAP and the indegenous Boko Haram terrorist groups have wrecked havoc on northern Nigeria! Their stated goal is to create an Islamic state in Northern Nigeria!

ABUJA, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- The Nigerian police on Monday confirmed six people were killed following a clash between a local rebel group and security operatives in the country's southeast region.

Two secret police personnel were among those allegedly killed by the outlawed Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) group during the clash on Sunday in the southern state of Enugu, said a spokesman for the Department of State Security.

Peter Afunanya, the secret police spokesman, said in a statement that the incident was "clearly an unprovoked violent attack launched by IPOB on the (security) team".

They were outlawed in 2017. But they began operations sometime in 2010! The groups Facebook page grew from a few hundred thousand in 2013 to about 1.5 million in by 2017! The group whose region of operations includes all the southeastern states of Nigeria including Akea-Ibom and Cross river states respectively seeks to resuscitate the defunct sovereign state of Biafra from Nigeria!

The Biafran state under the leadership of late col Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu waged a three year brutal war with the Nigerian State leading loss of an estimated 3.5million Biafran lifes from 1967 against all odds and allies of the Nigerian State including the UK and Germany!

The conditions and political manipulations that lead to the war are still prevalent in today's Nigeria. The systemic oppression and political suffocation of the Igbo tribe being the largest ethnic group of the Biafran composition is responsible for the renewed agitation!

The leader of the group is currently in exile somewhere in Israel after being kept in prison for over year by the Nigerian secret police few years back! During the ensueing protests against his incarceration, a lot of Ipob members were killed. You can sense the groups agitation and contempt toward the Nigerian State! The leader of the group Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has on several occasions promised 'to destroy Nigeria with the Truth and resuscitate the state of Biafra with shooting a bullet! His international campaigns and advocacy are well documented! Observers fear the emergence of another brutal war!
