It's a Competition
There are a lot of things that we have been told growing up that have influenced our decision-making and what we can make happen as an individual or group.
One of them is that life is not a competition and most of us agreed. I came with another news. Life is a competition. A big one.
The scripture in 1corinthians 9:24 reads, Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Don't let anyone put a complacent mindset in you by telling you that life is not a competition.
It is!!!
There is a prize to be won and you have to run like someone who competes.
But the competition is not with others but with ourselves. It's not with that guy, lady, or business but with us. It's with our yesterday against our today. It's with our past wins, failures, regrets, and disappointments.
What do I mean?
The goal is to consciously make up your mind to outdo your yesterday. To always make progress and not live in your yesterdays accomplishment either good or bad.
What will be will not be? You are to make up your mind to make what will be, be.
I hope you got the above statement?
You compete with yourself and your yesterday. You decide to outdo your past. You make up your mind to increase in grace, capacity, function, vision, and execution. It's okay to learn from others, let them inspire you, and copy the right things, but the onus is still on you to make the required changes. So treat life with urgency. Don't leave it to chance.
It's a competition.
You better run to win.
THE PRINCIPLE OF THE FIRST.
Have you taken time to study the men that are the richest in the world today? If you haven't, I think you should. One of the things I noticed about them is that they took advantage of the opportunities that came their way, but the major thing that stood them out is their ability to be the first to produce a certain product in their niche.
If you can name any of them, I will tell you what they produced that others now replicated. Their ability to be the first to solve a problem or bring an invention is the reason why they are so influential in their industry.
Let's come back to you.
What do you do today?
Which market do you serve?
What has been done in that niche so far?
What more can you do that has not been done before?
If you can identify a problem that needs a new approach, you will stand out in that niche. Sometimes, you may not invent something entirely new, but you can improve on what is already existing.
The goal is to be the first to do it.
Be the inspiration that other people follow.
As you appraise your work today, tomorrow, or anytime, ask yourself, what more can I introduce that has not been in existence. That way, you are operating in the principle of the first.
THE POWER OF NEW.
Have you noticed that you have more engagement with your posts when you attach a new picture with them?
Have you also noticed that more people tend to connect and celebrate you when you get a new certification, degree, or skill? That's because humans are fascinated with new things. We all like to have new clothes, shoes, bags, wristwatches, and even new friends,
why?
Because there is power in new.
The same way we crave to see new things in others, we should also expect to see something new in us. Have you ever seen someone that you know after a long time and wondered why he or she is still at that level?
It's because we expect growth from people, that's the same way we should demand it from ourselves. If people are following you, they expect to see new things. Not necessarily materialistic even though that's cool, but in terms of skills, attitude, knowledge, and experience.
Don't stay the same.
Add new things to your life. If you are a leader and people are following you, this is for you. If they are seeing the same thing in you over and over, they might seek extra motivation elsewhere.
Make a list of the skills you have now as a leader because we all are. What more can you add to yourself to be more effective in your work?
Don't say it's expensive because being expensive is relative. It's dependent on how serious you want to make that move. Your world is waiting for the new you. Don't disappoint them by staying the same.
