Following this, the Bangladesh Air Force has undertaken afforestation programs in remote areas of the country's coastal and Chittagong Hill Tracts through the necessary coordination with the Forest Department. Under the afforestation program, seeds were sown in remote areas of the country on Sunday (20-09-2020) and Monday (21-09-2020) by air force helicopters by throwing seedballs in remote areas. The afforestation program was conducted under the direction of Bangladesh Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat, BBP, OSP, NDU, PSC. This is the first time in Bangladesh that seeds are sown in the coastal areas by throwing seedballs from the sky. To this end, on 03 September 2020, the necessary seeds were collected from Patuakhali and processed at Biman Sadar: Seedball was made. The processed seedballs were flown from the air by the Air Force's 02 MI series helicopters to the coastal areas of Damar Char area of ​​Noakhali. It is to be noted that as the places selected for afforestation are inaccessible and unsuitable for road travel, seed sowing activities are carried out in these areas by helicopter.
