Here are some thoughts that can reduce the toxicity that is continuing to spread online.

Just because you want to feel famous, don't confirm friend requests. Chances are, most of the people on your friend list at the moment are those you have added but don't even know personally. You are potentially opening yourself up to potential dummy accounts of those who intend to harass you, cyberbully you or worse by giving in to this urge to expand your friend list.

Don't read anything people post if you can't help but add mates. There's so much hate because there's everything and all posted by individuals. When we reduce our sensitivity to items that can stress us, mental hygiene is encouraged. If you find that somebody keeps posting negative stuff and you don't want to disagree with that person, simply click Unfollow. It may be the right of that person to post what he wants, but it is also your right not to be subjected to its toxicity.

If you can't help but read it all then don't believe all you read. It was intended as the ultimate means for the free exchange of information when the internet was first conceived. Yet now it has been the main source of misinformation or false news, which is why we now have businesses that do fact-checking. Try googling it first to see whether or not it's real before blindly accepting what you've heard.

About a decade ago, mental health problems and even suicides were not that pronounced. Unbridled social media use is the one thing that is different between then and now.

Don't lead to the negative nature of the social media world if you are going to share something. Instead, bring irony and inspiration to it. Share a story that inspires others to hope, to persevere, to succeed and to love.

We need to be very careful when using social media Facebook, many of us unknowingly accepting the friend requests of three people, which is a serious threat to our privacy, we need to be much more aware of this.

Instead of negativity, positivity must prioritize. Instead to toxicity and hatred, love and things that are beneficial are things that we must do.
