Music is not meant at all to be about rivalry! Yeah, rivalry occurs in every industry in today's world, resulting in the industry just bringing in the best, but music is supposed to be about so much more. Music is harmony in itself. Music is capable of stimulating the whole brain at one time meaning that the brain is unified as one. Music has the ability to calm thoughts and concentrate your soul and spirit in one direction. It does this because it seeks to convey something something that can only be grasped if one's whole nature is condensed in one viewpoint.
From my perspective, the number one thing I really hated about the amateur music world was seeing one artist perform in front of another.
They prefer to compete with one another instead of helping each other, working together or gaining inspiration from each other.
He or she automatically compares him or herself to another as soon as one amateur musician sees another play. After all this the singer notes how much better or worse he or she is relative to the artist, and then walks away with whatever self-esteem he or she has left.
The spectator immediately starts to take notes as soon as the artist begins performing. How much better is this guy than me as a guitar player? How much better is this guy than me as a performer? How much better is the voice of this person than mine? Compared to mine, how much more imaginative is this person's original music?
See a trend with questions like this? All of the questions are about comparing the viewer to the artist!
"Amateur musicians would focus their whole career on this reality, "If I'm not better than this individual, then compared to this individual, I have no chance of making it into the industry.
This is precisely what I dislike most about the world of music; comparisons!
Music is not meant at all to be about rivalry! Yeah, rivalry occurs in every industry in today's world, resulting in the industry just bringing in the best, but music is supposed to be about so much more.

Music can only express its mystical language when one's entire essence is centered. Music seeks to share an unbelievable secret with us the secret of unity!
Music is meant for us to unite! When we both listen to the same music, whatever the writer was initially attempting to convey, we will both sense and comprehend its single message.
You become one with them by listening to a writer's music, because you feel the same emotions the writer felt when he or she composed the song; you become one with the writer!
This is a beautiful thing, and our culture has found, like all beautiful things, a way to make it hideous.
Both musicians seem to be contrasting each other these days, even though they should better understand the unity of music than anybody! They base their entire value on another's comparison, and if the stats do not meet, then they label themselves worthless.
You're not able to see? It's not a matter about who is the best or better. There's no better musician than another. - one of us has a different story to tell and a different way to tell it. Often the message from certain musicians comes out better than others but it really depends on how much stronger the artist feels about whatever subject he or she performs. It's only natural for a stronger word to be felt more profoundly, after all.
Anyway the idea is that if musicians really enjoy music as much as they say they do and show it from the bottom of their hearts, then no one is better because if anyone were all together they would say they are a better person. There's no one better, just different. Music is not intended to distinguish the poor from the good, it is intended to unite all to one understanding; the writer's understanding. Everyone has a different story to tell, and if the story is told full-heartedly, the story is as beautiful as any other story.
