Body language is a large part of the method of communicating with others, and yet most people do not have an intuitive knowledge of communicating without verbal speech, but fortunately, if a person is not good at reading this language and wants to improve in it, he can learn it by reading some special instructions From books or the Internet.

How to read body language

Body language depends on observing the signals and movements that the person makes, such as the way of moving the hands or the gaze of the eyes or even moving the head. All these movements may indicate what the person wants to reveal, but he cannot, or it may be an effective way to find out what others are hiding. It is possible to learn to read body language through the following points:

  • Evaluating the gaze of the eyes and how they communicate with others, as staring at others with blinking more than six times per minute is a sign of admiration.

  • Checking facial expressions; For example, a smile is one of the most obvious signs of attraction, and a person must learn to differentiate between a true smile and a smile that comes out of courtesy, and a true smile is usually detected by noticing the appearance of small wrinkles around the eyes.

  • Detecting signs of anxiety and tension by looking at a person's facial expressions, when a person is anxious, he begins to blink a lot and the movement of his face increases dramatically, and it is possible to discover signs of embarrassment also by looking at the face, as the person may turn his face and turn his gaze when he feels embarrassed.

  • Avoid looking into the eyes directly indicates that the person is hiding something, or that he is lying about a certain topic.

  • Placing hands on the face, like touching the chin or head, may indicate anxiety, a person's attempt to evade a topic, or even a lack of interest in talking.

  • Rubbing the fingers together indicates that the person is uncomfortable with the whole situation or session, and this movement may appear frequently during job interviews.

  • Scratching the eyes indicates that the person does not agree with others in their speech and decisions.

How to benefit from body language

Body language can be used in many areas. For example, this language is useful for discovering the culprits during police interrogation, so the investigator must have extensive experience with body language, in addition to it being necessary for work interviews, as many companies use this method to discover qualified employees to appoint them.
