After weeks of always planning to join the good questions to ask, I finally had the chance to answer questions from conversationstartsworld. It is true that when conversing with someone whom you just met is a struggle, I am not very good at it too so after going through the 250 questions in the above link, I learned what are the good ones to ask when I getting to know a person. Thanks to the readcash user who initiated this.
So without further ado, here are the 10+2 questions that I picked:
What smartphone feature would you actually be excited for a company to implement?
I thought it would be nice to have a built-in Thought to Text feature on the phone, a peculiarity for the device to write what I think of. It sounds crazy but everything sounded crazy before someone does it. Just like how people laugh at the thought of a machine flying, then after years and years of study, the airplane came into the picture.
Yes, this may sound impossible for now but we won't know what the future holds.
Do you think that children born today will have better or worse lives than their parents?
This question reminded me of Nadine Lustre's answer to one of her interviews, she said she doesn't want to have a child because of how bad the world has become today and she would rather adopt.
Although I think that the children born today in this pandemic are a little unfortunate that they won't experience the same kind of childhood that I had before, it is not for me to judge that they'll have bad lives. I can't predict the future and I remember one article that I had read somewhere which mentioned not being afraid that our children are going to live in this fallen world as they have been planned by God. Their time today is significant just as our time. They have their calling, their purposes on why they were born at this time and generation.
So the bottom line is don't worry and just focus on providing the best for our children.
What’s the funniest actual name you’ve heard of someone having?
"Ceasar Ian"
I know there are funnier names I have heard before but this is the first name that came into my mind upon reading the question. It's my husband's colleagues' name and it was my husband who told me about it and I just can't stop laughing.
The husband's colleague was born via a CS operation and I don't know what came into the parent's heads when they named him after the Cesarian operation thus his name is Ceasar Ian. Their son would always be reminded that he was brought into this world in that way.
I hope those who have gone through the same operation won't be offended about this, I had also gone through the same operation due to my ectopic pregnancy.
If magic was real, what spell would you try to learn first?
Perhaps the first thing that I would want to learn to spell would be to zip mouths. It would be great to say "Oscausi" when someone is just blabbering nonstop in front of me.
It wouldn't hurt as well if I'd learn to say "Mimblewimble", either of the two would be useful.
What game have you spent the most hours playing?
Oh, I had been crazy about Candy crush from 2012 up to 2015. I started playing it when I was in the United Arab Emirates working as an OFW. My office was located somewhere in the desert and I have to travel for more than an hour to reach there so to kill time, I would play on the train and subway, whenever I am waiting for something, I'd go play until I became addicted to it.
Imagine the number of hours that I had spent wasting on that game. I never received any compensation yet I was very hooked to the point of not sleeping early just to finish a specific level! If I had only spent those times making noise or writing articles on read, it would have been better.
What movie, picture or video always makes you laugh no matter how often you watch it?
This is so timely because around lunch earlier, we watched LOL, a tv show where Bayani Agbayani is one of the hosts. He was spilling out jokes and it reminded us of his jokes in his old show "I Can See Your Voice". I can't help but burst into laugher again remembering it.
I don't want to tell you how he said it because I might not give justice to how funny that was but I believe one of you might have seen that too and perhaps that made you laugh as well but it had left a mark in my mind and in my husband too so here's the joke:
Mind you, I watched it again right now and I can't help but laugh again. Oh my Bayani!
Do you eat food that’s past its expiration date if it still smells and looks fine?
Yes of course. Lol! My colleagues and I before would always bump into some expired goodies in our company fridge and would say smell it and if that still smells okay, then we'd go munching on it saying, expiration dates have leeways and so on but we also pray that it won't hurt our stomachs.
What songs hit you with a wave of nostalgia every time you hear them?
I would always remember my first love with the song "Somewhere Down The Road" because back in my junior year, my first love and I were called to the principal's office. It was my first time to be called to the office for this certain matter. I didn't expect that our teachers were concerned about me and my boyfriend. The principal and three of our teachers were there at the office and told us to separate because their reason was our studies might be affected.
My boyfriend that time was the top one of their class and they noticed his change of behavior when we became a couple. He had written my name on his test papers, he had been slacking off his studies and he would spend time with me during lunch breaks instead of studying and they were concerned he might end up neglecting his studies.
One of the teachers sang the song "Somewhere Down the Road" and telling us if we are meant for each other, we will be back together.
We didn't end up together but I will always remember our love story, we are neighbors in Cebu City too and we are friends as well.
As a child, what did you think would be awesome about being an adult, but isn’t as awesome as you thought it would be?
Back when I was younger, I thought it would be great to become an adult so I could get a job and do whatever I wanted with the money. But when I became an adult, I learned that it isn't very nice at all. First, I have to go look for a job, then when I am hired, I need to work my ass off. Once I get the salary, it is not even enough to cover all my adulting expenses.
That isn't awesome at all!
What languages do you wish you could speak?
I'd settle for all languages so that I can understand everyone wherever I am. I always remember when we were in South Korea and we are almost missing out on our flight back to the Philippines.
We were looking for the subway entrance but couldn't figure it out. If I could have spoken Hangul or Korean, it would have been easy to ask the people around. Most of them do not speak English so they would immediately wave their hands or shake their head when I ask them.
Thankfully, a young lad can speak English, and has been very nice to show us where the subway elevator was.
What are some of the best vacations you’ve had?
I could have chosen one of our trips with my husband but I must say that the surprise Christmas vacation from my company would suit the best one because that was in Cebu's Five Star Rated Shangrila Mactan.
Everyone in the company was given our rooms, buffet dinner, flowing drinks, and another buffet breakfast. We have access to all the resort's amenities. Oh boy, the food was luxurious, especially at dinner. It was definitely the best dinner I ever had.
If someone narrated your life, who would you want to be the narrator?
Surely, it would be Sir David Attenborough. His eight decades of work as a narrator, presenter, and writer tells that he is the best candidate for this. Char! As if my life is that worth to be narrated by him.
Anyways, that's it guys, I had fun answering these questions. If you are interested, you might also want to join the fun and answer your top 10 good questions to ask.
