Suspension Bridge or suspension bridge is a type of bridge that uses cable tension pedestals rather than side supports. Suspension bridges are usually built in the geographical conditions of an area that has many mountains, valleys and rivers. This also applies in Indonesia, where there are many suspension bridges that connect from one place to another which are separated by valleys. Now, you need to know that one of the suspension bridges in Indonesia is the longest suspension bridge in Southeast Asia. The bridge is located in Sukabumi Regency which is still in the area of Mount Gede Pangrango National Park (TNGGP), Sukabumi, West Java. The suspension bridge is called the Situgunung Bridge or Situgunung Suspension Bridge.The Situgunung Bridge is at an altitude of 107 meters from its lowest point with a length of 243 meters and a width of 1.2 meters. The Situgunung Bridge is an access to Curug Sawer, one of the waterfalls that has exoticism in Sukabumi. The Situgunung Bridge construction project began in May 2017 and within 4 months the Situgunung Bridge has received a safety and comfort certificate and has passed the load test from the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing. Situgunung Bridge began operating in 2018 and was inaugurated on March 9, 2019 by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs in the last period, Luhut Binsar Panjaitan. This longest bridge in Southeast Asia can be passed by Kawan GNFI from 7.30am to 17.30pm with an entrance fee of Rp.50,000.00. For Kawan GNFI who is going through the Situgunung Bridge but is afraid, Kawan GNFI does not need to worry because the officers will attach a seat belt around the waist that can be attached to the handle on the edge of the bridge. The security equipment is provided at the bridge entrance. So, GNFI friends who want to cross will be accompanied by staff on standby in the middle of the bridge so that they can reduce anxiety while in the middle of the trip.
Arriving at the end of the bridge, Kawan GNFI can continue the journey to Curug Sawer by walking for 1 kilometer. While walking on the bridge, Kawan GNFI will witness the green trees under the bridge and the wind blowing from a height. Because of its beauty, the Situgunung Bridge is also often used as a photo location for pre-wedding photos.
