Vision 2020 ( My country's freedom)
African Accent,
Our Leaders,
Our Heritage,
Birds in cage
Set free
Soaring in the sky
Freedom all we cherish
We breathe in,
We breathe out,
We shout,
We scream,
Spread our arms wide like the birds soaring in the sky.
Hear the whispers inside
Chanting from long ago
Losing time in a soft eternal bright.
Our leaders promised us freedom, heritage,A greater African and better standard of living.
Vision 2020 they say
Darkness dwells under_gentle moonlight.
Our Ancestors spirit arose across every state in pain and tears.
Vision 2020 we all have been waiting for.
Here comes Vision 2020
Pains
Sorrows
Hardships
High death rate
Loss of properties
Illnesses
That's what we got has our Vision we have been waiting for.
To make the matter worst
An unannounced and rejected visitor entered without an Invite and yet settled with pride and his head hold high.
Coronavirus they call it.
To make this unannounced and deadly visitor's name to sound sweet they call it COVID-19.
Our agencies searched all nooks and crannies,
Antivirus not found.
Self isolation, we are been told,
High death rate from the East, west, North and South.
Self protection, we are been told.
Wash your hands regularly,
Don't touch your face, mouth and nose
Get a sanitizer
Keep distances
All we are been told to do.
The rejected visitor didn't spare the Poor nor the Rich.
Everyone being equal.
Now we all say Vision 2020 not what we visioned it to be.Now we all say vision 2020 is not what we envisioned it to be
But is that all there is?
To live by what we see
Should we neglect our faith?
And claim that we still trust him?
Have we forgotten that although weeping may endure for a while
But joy comes in the morning
Let's keep the the fire burning
Vision 2020 is still at large
Don't panic
