Abraham Lincoln is the name of a timeless personality.

He is one of those who have fought for the establishment of democracy in the world.

Abraham Lincoln was born on February 4, 1809, in a small village in the US state of Kentucky. His father's name was Thomas Lincoln.

Thomas Lincoln was a carpenter. Abraham Lincoln's childhood was very poor.

He spent his childhood building a house in the forest with his parents.

He lost his mother when he was six years old. Note that his mother died due to lack of treatment.

A year after his mother's death, his father married a widow. Abraham Lincoln was inspired to be educated by his stepmother.

But the most surprising thing is that the duration of his education is not more than 1 year.

Abraham Lincoln was very brave and hardworking. Truthfulness, honesty, cooperative attitude, sweet behavior were his constant companions.

At the age of 19 he went to New Orleans for business. In that business he made a lot of money and his owner was happy to appoint him as the owner's warehouse manager.

There he read various books in his spare time.

Twice in 1836-1840 he was elected a member of the Governing Body.

On November 4, 1842, he married a woman named Mary Todd. Abraham is the father of 4 children.

The names of his 4 children are-

Robert Todd Lincoln, Edward Baker Lincoln Wiley Lincoln and Ted Lincoln.

Inspired by his wife, Mary, Lincoln returned to politics, and in 1848 he was elected to the US House of Representatives.

He noticed that slaves were being bought and sold near the White House, the President's residence.

He has opposed this practice all his life. He was controversial and failed when he presented a speech in Parliament to repeal the practice.

Finally, in 1954, the Republican Party was formed under his leadership. His opponent was Douglas of the Democracy Party.

The features and policies of Lincoln's political party fascinate people.

As a result, the Republican Party won the March 1971 election and Abraham Lincoln became the 16th President of the United States.

After becoming president, he was not late in winning his goal. He called on the people to abolish slavery.

On July 1-3 of that year, about 8,000 people were killed in the civil war in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, USA.

Abraham delivered a short, groundbreaking speech at a memorial service on November 19, 183, almost four months after the war, at the Memorial. This famous 282-word speech in just two minutes is known as the GETTYSBURG SPEECH. This is one of the best speeches in the history of the world.

The most notable aspect of this speech is that Lincoln gave a perfect definition of democracy in just one sentence. According to him, "Democracy is the government of the people, the government by the people, the government for the people."

His speech later became the definition of democracy in the textbooks of different countries of the world.

On that day in 183, the keynote speaker was Edward Evert, a well-known orator. He lectured for about two hours.

The next time Lincoln stood on the lecture stage, he spoke for only 2 minutes.

Later, Edward Evert, the keynote speaker, lamented, "If only I had two minutes of Lincoln in my two-hour speech.
