Over time, the mother of King Kashnadeva Raya had become very old. Once she became very ill. He felt that now she would die soon. She had a lot of mangoes, so in the last days of her life she wanted to donate mangoes. So he desired the king to donate mangoes to Brahmins. She believed that by donating in this way, she would get heaven. So after a few days, the mother of the king attained death without fulfilling her last wish.
After his death, the king summoned all the Brahman Brahmins and told about his mother's last unfulfilled wish. After remaining silent for a while, the Brahmin said, "This is very bad, Maharaj, in the event of the last wish not being fulfilled, he cannot get salvation.. Maharaja, you should remedy the peace of her soul. "
Then Maharaj asked him the remedy for the fulfillment of his mother's last wish. The Brahmin said, "For the peace of his soul you will have to donate gold mangoes on his death anniversary." So the king called some Brahmins for food on the death anniversary of Mother and gave each one a mango made of gold.
When Tenali Ram came to know of this, he immediately understood that the Brahmins are taking up the simplicity and naivete of the king. So he made a plan to teach those Brahmins.
The next day Tenali Ram sent an invitation letter to the Brahmins. It was written in it that Tenali Ram also wants to donate on his mother's death anniversary. Because she too died with an unfulfilled wish. Ever since she finds out that her mother's last wish has not been fulfilled, she will be wandering in the phantom, she is very sad and wants her mother's soul to be comforted soon. The Brahmins thought that Tenali Ram's house would also get a lot of donations' as he is a royal jester.
All Brahmins reached Tenali Rama's house on a certain day. The Brahmins were served tasty food. After having food, everyone started waiting for donations. Then he saw Tenali Ram heating iron bars in the fire. When asked, Tenali Ram said, “My mother was upset with the pain of the pods. He was in severe pain at the time of death. She was dead before I could foment them with hot bars. " Now for the peace of his soul, I have to do the same to you as he had last desire. " On hearing this, the Brahmin went to Bokhla. They wanted to leave immediately. He angrily said to Tenali Ram that we will be comforted by your mother's soul when fired from hot bars? "
"No sir, I am not lying. If donating gold in a mango donation can comfort the soul of Maharaja's mother in heaven, then why can't I fulfill my mother's last wish? "
On hearing this, all Brahmins understood what Tenali Ram wants to say. He said, “Tenali Ram, forgive us. We give them gold mangoes to you. Just you let us go. "
Tenali Ram took the mangoes of gold and let the Brahmins go, but a greedy Brahmin went and told the whole thing to the king. Hearing this, the king became angry and called Tenali Rama. He said, “Tenali Ram, if you wanted gold mangoes, then I would take a meal with me. How did you become so greedy that you took gold mangoes from Brahmins? "
"Maharaj, I am not greedy, but I was stopping his tendency of greed. If they can take gold mangoes on your mother's death anniversary, then why can't they afford hot iron bars on my mother's death anniversary? "
King Tenali understood the meaning of Ram's words. He called the Brahmins and asked them to give up greed in future.
