What scares monkeys?
People who live in the places where monkeys are located need to get rid of them or keep them away from their homes without causing harm to them, by intimidating them so that they will not return again, especially in agricultural areas where monkeys eat their crops, and the monkey is afraid of several things that make him run away and avoid approaching, which are as follows:
1 - The monkey is afraid of directing the stick or spraying it with a water hose, so some people resort to using a strong water gun or garden hose to drive away the monkeys.
2 - Monkeys move away when they see stray dogs and large cats, especially when hearing their sounds. A dog or cat can be acquired to get rid of monkeys.
3 - The monkeys are afraid of those who chase and catch up with them when they approach, and that is a warning to them that these possessions are not easy and available.
4 - Monkeys are disturbed by loud noises and loud sounds, so firing shots or firecrackers causes them to frighten and flee, and some distribute loudspeakers around their homes or agricultural lands to annoy the monkeys with loud sounds and prevent them from approaching.
5 - Monkeys are often exposed to snake bites, as they are very afraid of them, and when spreading rubber snakes around the place, the monkeys will not approach, with the need to be careful to change their place constantly, as monkeys are intelligent beings capable of discovering this trick if it is not applied correctly.
Tips to keep monkeys out of the house
1 - Close windows and windows tightly, and it is recommended to install nets around them so that monkeys do not enter when they are opened for ventilation.
2 - Keeping food out of sight, as it is adapted to live in the forest, and if you find food in the cities, it will not return to its original homeland.
3- Dispose of waste and leftovers away from home, or close the waste container tightly with a rope so that you cannot open it.
4 - Harvest the fruits from the home garden or from agricultural land regularly, or cover them with an opaque material such as burlap bags.
The correct behavior when encountering a monkey
Monkeys are not usually aggressive, and their attack on humans is rare, but when encountering a monkey, it is recommended to take the following steps to avoid danger:
1 - Immediately stop moving, maintain calm, and avoid taking any sudden step or movement.
2 - Avoid direct eye contact with the monkey or smiling at him.
3 - Search for any exit close to the monkey if it is inside the house, and when there is food nearby, throw it towards the exit.
4- Find a nearby stick and hit it on the ground and point it at the monkey, or use the water hose to get it out.
5 - Take refuge in a safe place and hide in it and wait until the monkeys leave.
6 - When a child is near, he can be carried and placed on the shoulder to increase the perceived size of the monkey.
7- Avoid attacking or hitting the monkey.
