We all know the story. Of how the boy would cry out "WOLF! HELP ME!" and then laugh and laugh when the folk from his village came running to help. "Oh, it must have run away." He would say sometimes. Or "It was so terrible. It came sooo close to me. But then it ran away".
Eventually, all the village determined that he was telling fibs and lies; there was no wolf. And of course, one day once again the boy is out in the woods, but -this- time, there really was a wolf! "HELP HELP" he cried out, and "IT IS BIG AND SCARY. HELP ME!". But no one came to help.
"Come closer." said the wolf to the boy. "Come closer." The wolf beckoned to the boy, and irresistibly the boy was drawn closer. The wolf put its paw on the boy's shoulder, and said this:
"You now have a choice. You can be eaten by me, and no one will help you, and that will be the end of the story. Or.."
"Or, you must now live your life telling lies. Every day, you must call another from your village to be eaten by me. Don't worry, if you lie well enough, I will share some of the food with you. You can trust me."
Which would -you- choose? Would you trust that wolf?
