The geographic location of the Philippines is located West of Pacific Ocean and near the equator giving a wonderful weather season. Based on temperature and rainfall, the country's season is divided into two: wet and dry season. Wet or rainy season starts in month of June and usually ends in November. Strongest typhoons usually occur in the late October to December. Dry or summer season starts in December to May. January is the coldest month here in our country while April to May is the hottest.

Hottest Month this 2021

This summer is like my 2020's summer, we are still in restrictions due to Covid-19. The difference is that last year we can't really go out without quarantine pass but this time I can go whatever I want as long I am still in my community.

The temperature this May in my baranggay rise up to almost 33 °C, that was not normal for us. Our temperature back then just range to 26°C to 32°C. Severe heat results in different diseases especially to those people who are not physically fitted. Heat Stroke is the number one disease that targets those dehydrated and with high blood pressure person, this often leads to death. Going out for just minutes without any protection in skin may lead sun burns.

Because of Covid-19 face to face classes is not allowed making the schools engage flexible learning through modules and online classes. And because of that I was given a chance to work in a construction site, you can really feel there the hotness of May. 6 am in the morning the sun is already above that's why in 8 am you can't just walk without any protection because direct sunlight will really burn your skin and much more in 11 am to 3 pm when the sun is really straight.

I do believe that what's happening in our planet is brought by global warming which is an aspect of climate change referring to long term rise of temperature. This the effects of deforestation, more trees cut down leads to more carbon dioxide in the air. Factories that releasing greenhouse gases and burning fossil fuels for our electricity is also one of the main causes of global warming. Climate change affects not only humans but also animals especially those living in cold and frozen water of the planet. Extreme heat of the planet melts the ice caps in north and south pole resulting to rising up sea water level in all over the planet and destruction of animals habitat.

There are various organizations that aims to save our planet through their programs like tree planting, seminars for proper waste disposal and may others, I do hope that people will cooperate for the betterment of this planet.

Montn of June is scaryyyyyyyy!

Today is the second day of June but we are already experiencing strong winds and non-stop heavy rainfall since last night. Trees are already bending to the earth crust because of the wind. Most places here in my town is already submerged in water, we are just grateful because our place is elevated so that we are not prone to flash floods.

June is the start of wet season in the Philippines. Thinking of that makes me tremble because it is the season where typhoons occur. Today we are raised to typhoon cignal number 2. Typhoons is created due to combination of hot and cold temperature. Roofing of our house is made up roof sheets nailed in bamboo poles that's why we are already afraid even in signal number 1. We have countless of times that our roofs was torn by typhoons and that was a nightmare for us. Among houses in our place we are the only one where the roofs are usually torn, that was embarrassing. I don't want to happen that again because it brings trauma for me. It is so hard to stay in my relatives house, we are not welcome there.

Typhoon names that really bring trauma for me is that Typhoon Frank, it happened when I am elementary. Rivers overflow, all our roof was blown away by the strong winds. This is also the time that MV Princess of Star sunk down as they met the eye storm, almost 300 people were killed. Typhoon Yolanda is a super typhoon that leave the Tacloban, Leyte devastated. Thousand of people was drowned because of the unexpected storm surge. Typhoon Ruby is also unforgettable, its strong wind torn also our roofs. Last year's typhoon Typhoon Rolly, Quinta and Ulysses is a nightmare for some places. Large area of Luzon Island was submerged because of the rains brought by these typhoons. I remember that time Bicol Region is still in recovering period and they are devasted again by another typhoon. Cagayan Valley in Luzon was submerged, a lot of people cries in the top of their houses because they can't even get help. Authorities faced difficult time to rescue those people because of lack of equipments and strong current of water.

This time I'm now facing again my trauma. Typhoons is approaching again. I do hope that they are not strong as those in last year.

Photos are all mine. Screenshots from my weather forecaster.
