During the covid pandemic, a lot of businesses switched to remote working. Interestingly it was found that a lot of work can be actually done remotely and there was absolutely not necessary to work physically. However, remote working is not a new concept, and even so, is the Digital Nomad Lifestyle.

Why You Need to Consider Becoming a Digital Nomad

Digital nomads are people who live their life just like a nomad (a wanderer) and work remotely using the internet. Digital nomads basically are people who freelance for a living. They are skilled professionals and they prefer to work from anywhere without having to go to the workplace. These people travel around the world and they can work from anywhere as long as they get power to plug their laptops and connect to the internet.

Benefits of being a digital nomad:

You can move to cheaper places and cut your living cost. You can from your home in Los Angeles to Dhaka.

You can enjoy your life to the fullest. Since you define your own working hours and set your own rules, you are stress-free.

You can earn more. Since you can pick high-paying assignments and do not have to stay on a job that pays poorly, you have the ability to earn more.

You can earn through multiple ways, you don’t have to choose just one or two income streams.

Remote Workers: Freelancers Who Travel and Work

The beauty of remote working is you can work remotely, you can do what you enjoy doing, and still, make money. If you want to work from anywhere, choose remote working that will allow you to go anywhere you want and earn from any corner of the world. Anywhere working allows you to exercise a nomadic lifestyle.

This job is reserved for highly skilled professionals, however, you do not have to worry if you do not have skills, you can master any skills in a few weeks or a few months.

What kinds of remote jobs are in high demand?

Podcast consulting service

Stop motion and digital ad

Content writing

Video editing

Digital Art and NFT

Programming, etc.

The best thing about these niches is you do not need an elaborate setup, you can work as long as you have a laptop, the required software, and an internet connection. Even if you are not receiving any contracts, you can still work on your own project and monetize your activities.

Can You Actually Live as a Digital Nomad?

If you have professional-level skills you might be able to generate better income online because you can work remotely, for example, you can work in a US company from your home in Nigeria. However, getting trustworthy clients, and getting long-term clients is really difficult. If you really want to build an online career, you should first start looking for online jobs in your spare time, for instance during the weekend. Once you start getting contracts and begin to earn a stable income you can then give up your offline job and become full-time engaged with online work.

If you are living in the first world, you can definitely travel to the second world or third world countries and live in these countries as a digital nomad. For example, if you are from the United States and you want to spend your life as a traveler all the while working online, you can travel to India. In India, you can live just for $20 per day (including food and living costs). You can make this $20 just by writing one article, designing one logo, etc. However, if you are from India, you cannot go to Norway to live your life as a digital nomad because you don't earn $20 per article or $20 per logo, if you happen to be in a developing country, you rarely get paid high. Even if you are earning well, you cannot afford to travel to other countries and live as a digital nomad, working online.
