Blogging Woes: The Challenge of Getting Traffic
Are you a blogger? What is your major issue?
I am sure your answer would be getting traffic?
I am also a blogger, and my primary issue is also building traffic on my blog.
If you are a blogger and if you are not getting a lot of traffic, there is no way you can generate revenue.
I think generating traffic for a blog is the common challenge for bloggers worldwide. While SEO and digital marketing can help, building sustainable traffic remains still difficult. That because SEO and digital marketing both are very competitive, and you will always have to fight for a better spot.
Overcoming this challenge is vital for revenue generation through various methods.
Understanding Traffic
There are three different kinds of traffic, organic traffic, referral traffic, and direct traffic. When visitors from search engines land on your website, it is organic traffic. When you get traffic from social media, it is referral traffic, and when people land on your site through a direct link, it is direct traffic. Even though organic traffic is the best, it is quite impossible to build organic traffic because you need to rank high on search engines, and ranking high on search engines is really difficult. referral traffic can be built through promotion and advertising on social media. If you have managed to build a lot of followers on social media pages, you can get tons of referral traffic. You can get direct traffic by promoting your web content through other blogs and websites, email marketing, etc. Among all these traffic methods, the easiest traffic is social traffic if you have built a huge following.
Generally speaking, there are two ways to build traffic on your website, one, through SEO, and another through social media promotion. SEO is a free method if you know how to do it, you also do not have to do seo again and again because your one-time work will work for a long time. Social media promotion is also free method to build traffic, however, this method will work only when you have built an audience on social media you do not have followers on your social media, there is no point in promoting on social media because when you do not have followers there will not be link clicks and engagements. You can also run paid advertising to build traffic. For instance, you can boost your post on facebook or promote your tweets on Twitter to build traffic. You can also run PPC, CPM or pop under or pop up ads
Three Ways to Build Traffic on Your Blog
Traffic is blood line for your online business or website. The best way to build traffic is SEO. However, building traffic through SEO is really difficult. That’s because you need to rank high on search engines.
SEO is a sustainable method for website traffic, however, it is not easy. In my experience, social media marketing can be more effective for traffic generation provided you have managed to build a huge following. Personally, I find social media promotion, especially on Facebook pages and Twitter, to be the easiest method for driving traffic to my blog.If you have followers that’s fine, if you do not have followers, you can just advertise.
Build audience on social media: Social media sites are the best platform for your blog promotion. However, you can receive traffic from social sites only when you have followers. Having a lot of followers means having a lot of traffic on your blog.
Build subscribers: When you have subscribers, you can not only notify your subscribers about your new posts but even send links to the recommended readings. Having a lot of subscribers and sending emails regularly will help you to build traffic.
Forum promotion: You can join web master forums and start promoting your blog. On webmaster forums you will find bloggers like you, you can then build a community of like-minded people. You can even find guest posting opportunities on these forums. Alternatively, you can also create a forum within your blog, in a subdomain, and use your forum to build traffic by allowing your forum members to discuss on your blog posts.
Traffic Exchanges Are Big No
If you use traffic exchange sites, you might see traffic on your site, however, this is bot traffic. Bot traffic does not create any engagements, and the view duration for this kind of traffic will be 5-10 seconds. Since there are no engagements and the view duration is very small, you will have a high bounce rate. Having a high bounce rate means your site will not be preferred by search engine algorithms, and when your site is not liked by the search engine algorithm, your site will be pushed down on the search engine result page. Since traffic exchange is basically traffic generated by bots, there will not be any ad impressions and ad clicks. Therefore, there will be no revenue on your site. Search engines like websites that get genuine traffic, for example, organic traffic, referral traffic, traffic from reputed websites, and direct traffic. They don't like software-generated traffic.

When you visit your blog, you should moderate your comments, reply to the comments if required, update plugins or content management system if required, you should also check the traffic (if you are using traffic analyzing plugin), you should check SEO score of your posts (provided you are using SEO plugin). You should also visit your blog to update your old posts by adding relevant information and deleting irrelevant information. You should also copy your blog links and and then post on your social media pages, most importantly, Facebook and Twitter. I suggest you to create facebook and twitter page on your blog's name.
The purpose of having a blog and having social media pages can sometimes be the same, that is to make money. I have a blog and I also have a facebook page, Instagram account, and twitter account. I make money from my blog but I am not making money from any of my social media pages directly. However, I am promoting my blog through social media pages and driving traffic to my blog. IN order to earn from blog, you need a lot of traffic. you will have to build at least 2 K daily traffic to start earning. IN order to earn from social pages, you need social pages with a huge following, you need hundreds of thousands of followers to be able to make money from your social pages. If you have a lot of followers, you can earn in multiple ways, such as promoting products, selling products, sponsorship, etc.
