On the one hand I feel like I should be talking about what's going on in South Africa right now, and on the other hand I feel like Noise is a good place to escape the feelings of panic and despair of "real life" because we're mostly looking forward to a hopeful crypto future here. Being involved in the tourism industry, this pandemic hit hard. Tourism businesses have fought so hard to survive Covid, we got hit again when the world incorrectly named the second variant after South Africa, then again now with the third wave lockdown, and now we're all being dealt another blow with the riots... Meanwhile our economic survival as an industry and as a country relies on tourists coming back to SA. Escaping reality feels like the only way to stay sane. #SouthAfrica

I am wordless 😞😢 South Africa's events barely reported on our medias...😡
I'm not surprised that it's not reported on much... I suppose if it gets worse then the international media will talk about it more.
Today, finally, the national newspaper my mom subscribe reports the events on page 2...
I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing... if the rest of the world is writing about it, tourism will go down for the whole country (not just the affected areas) but no help will come from outside anyway.
