When my brother was at the immigration in Stockholm, he had a valid visa, but the officer was staring at his visa, flipped his passport from the first to the last page, and looked at him, he did that twice before letting him enter.
Now at the custom. The officer looked at his passport before going through his luggage, then uttered something on a walkie-talkie. A while more, another man in uniform came with a big German Shepherd. They spent a whole lot of time searching.
Finally to their delight, one of the men in uniform pulled out a small plastic bag containing ‘white powder. More officers come and escorted my brother into a room. Fifteen minutes later, he was free to go and he went straight to a ground transport gate to get a taxi. My brother brought with him a bag of “corn flour” for cooking.

Singapore has the reputation of being a strict country where drug trafficking is not tolerated and countless drug couriers have been sent to the gallows. With upright government, and obedient citizens who respect rules of laws. A country with a high GDP where poverty is almost zero percent.
