Organic Waste Becomes Eco Enzyme Very Useful for the Surrounding Environment
Some people don't know what eco enzyme is. Before going to eco enzyme, I will explain a little about what organic waste is. We as humans must often throw out garbage but have we sorted out the garbage properly? What kind of waste should be sorted and how. Garbage is divided into several parts, generally there are organic and inorganic waste. Organic waste is waste that comes from the rest of living things that can easily decompose naturally without human intervention. Meanwhile, inorganic waste is waste that is no longer used and is difficult to decompose. Inorganic waste buried in the ground can cause soil pollution because inorganic waste is classified as a substance that is difficult to decompose and the waste will be buried in the ground for a long time, this causes damage to the soil layer.
So it turns out that this organic waste can be reprocessed in the right way and can be beneficial for the surrounding environment. Now what I will discuss is about how kitchen waste, that is, organic waste can be useful by being processed into eco-enzymes. What are eco enzymes? eco enzyme is the result of the fermentation of organic kitchen waste such as fruit and vegetable pulp, sugar (brown sugar, brown sugar or cane sugar), and water. It is dark brown in color and has a strong sweet and sour fermented aroma. Eco Enzyme can be a multipurpose liquid and its applications include households, agriculture and livestock. Basically, eco enzyme accelerates bio-chemical reactions in nature to produce useful enzymes using fruit or vegetable waste. Enzymes from this “garbage” are one way of waste management that uses kitchen scraps for something very useful. This liquid can be used as a house cleaner, as well as an effective natural fertilizer and pesticide.
So what do we need to make eco enzyme? We only need three ingredients, namely fruit peel (apple skin, orange, pineapple, pear, watermelon, lemon), sugar (brown sugar, brown sugar or cane sugar), and water. The ratio of these materials is 3:1:10. Steps to make:
Cut the skin of the fruit, stir the water with sugar until evenly distributed. Then pour all the ingredients into a bottle or jar that can be tightly closed.
Store in a cool and dry place at room temperature.
Leave it for 3 months, and open every day for the first 2 weeks, then once every 2-3 days, then once a week. In the first week there will be a lot of gas produced.
Sometimes there is a white layer on the surface of the solution. If worms appear add a handful of sugar, mix well then cover.
After 3 months, filter the eco enzyme using gauze or a filter. The residue can be used as fertilizer by blending and drying.
When we read about the steps to make eco enzyme, some people will feel reluctant to do this because it takes a long time to make eco enzyme.
The impact of the accumulation of waste without any management can have an impact on ourselves and the surrounding environment. Indirect effects of organic waste, resulting in an increase in diseases carried by mosquito vectors (vector borne disease) and rats (rondent borne disease). Meanwhile, inorganic waste, such as microplastics, especially diapers or disposable diapers, the majority of which are imported waste, contain super adsorbent polymer (SAP). Has a hormone-destroying effect on aquatic biota. Several research results at landfills in Indonesia show a decrease in environmental quality, both air, water, and soil. There needs to be immediate handling of polluted environmental conditions, so that there is no negative impact on the environment and society.
Now we know the harmful effects of waste if we don't process it properly. So what does this have to do with eco enzymes? The connection between the two is that we can manage our own waste well by making eco enzymes. This is the easiest for us to start a clean and healthy environment. There are so many benefits and uses of this eco enzyme itself.
Eco Enzyme has many ways to help the natural cycle such as facilitating plant growth (as fertilizer), treating soil and also cleaning polluted water. In addition, it can also be added to household cleaning products such as shampoo, dishwashing detergent, etc. This enzyme cleaner is 100% natural and chemical free, biodegradable and gentle on hands and the environment. This liquid is also a natural insect repellent which keeps ants, bugs etc away. So natural, after being used for a mop, this liquid can also be used to water plants. Eco Enzyme can also be used to stimulate plant hormones to improve fruit and vegetable quality and to increase crop yields. So in essence it is a circular economy at its best.
