Manchester United can confirm that international clearance has now been received for two new additions at Under-18 level ahead of the 2020/21 season, with a third signing also being finalised.

Defenders Marc Jurado and Alvaro Fernandez Carreras have joined the club’s Academy from Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively.

Fernandez Carreras is a 17-year-old full-back who has mainly operated on the left side for Real Madrid’s Juvenil C team.

Jurado, 16, played in Barcelona’s Cadet A side before completing his move to Manchester.

United can also confirm the signing of Isak Hansen-Aaroen, subject to international clearance. The midfielder, who arrives from Tromso IL, made his professional debut for the OBOS-ligaen side in July.

Jurado and Fernandez Carreras have both travelled to Manchester from Spain and have followed the government’s self-isolation guidance since arriving. The players are living together with a host family who have also quarantined and ensured that the players have been cared for during this time.

The scholars' two-week period has been spent meeting coaches, staff and their new team-mates online, while continuing to learn English and following a physical programme.

After the time is completed, the two Spaniards will join up with the rest of the Under-18s squad to begin training.

We would like to welcome Marc, Alvaro and Isak to the club.
