This idea comes from talking with my younger brother who will be a senior high-school student this coming school year. I was curious about how his study was and quite disappointed of how things are different from the way we studied before, and the covid impact to all the students.
My brother said that he has not learned a thing or two during the entire duration of the 2020 class. You know, age like that, are very curious and can be easily distracted. He even proudly says that he was playing Mobile Legend most of the time. I'm sure he is, I have been once in that phase too. Playing Mobile Legend up until morning and putting all my energy and time on playing the game just to level up. And I end up realizing that it wasn't such a good thing to do as it made me lose my focus on more important things, like what is happening to my brother. I hope he soon realize that though. He even said that, how can he learn a thing when they are only using a module to answer and those modules does not even have a samples to begin with.
So he had to research those answers and that it was one of the biggest dis-advantages of the kids with technologies from students who spend time with a face to face class. Having the patience to look for the answers on the book. While most of the answers are on the web, literally when you searched them the answer are all there and the kids nowadays missed the opportunity to read other things besides what are they looking for.
Library hours
Libraries keeps me insane when I am still a student. And all I can say is that student nowadays, missed these opportunity, to smell the books, and having the hard time looking for answers and reading other stuff that will make them use in the future. I can remember how I used the library to find answers to my assignments, be it statistics, calculus, trigonometry, P.E., english, management and I have read more, get irritated too, not finding answers. I can remember how, all of the questions are entirely different from what was written on the book, that you have to fully understand the basics so you can follow or used as reference to get the right answers.
Whilst most questions nowadays can be clearly search on the web, easily copied and paste by the students without truly understanding the basics.
Group studying or group activities
Studying at home, limits your knowledge with your own ideas, we know all what we haven't learn on our class or what we missed could be learn from group studies. We have all have different perspective and that it made us, learn things that you cannot learn from just answering modules.
Group discussion and activities can also help build up confidence and leadership skills. It also helps is improve our social vices and ability to interact to different individuals and relieves social anxieties. And you are more prone to knowing that each people have differences.
Laboratory Activities
It keeps me wonder how does students handle those science laboratories or even on other subject that needs the application. When I was in college we have a lot of laboratories to be done, and not all can be provided at home, and these lab materials only exists or only available on school. I wonder does the era that needs to be teaches how to dissect the frog can dissect one? Or how electronic students handling these lab activities, how can electrical freshman knows how to light a bulb without failing? It keeps me wonder more. And how covid limits the students from learning these actual scenarios that is happening when we apply more than what can we imagine.
Music readings
My friend and I were talking about her niece that how can the students learn how to read music if they only read the text? How can she sing the doremifasolatido right? When she haven't heard or know how to read the notes? Will she have to listen to the modules?.
On our province not all can have an easy internet connections and not every time students can pay the rent of computers just to listen to the notes. And teachers can't visits all every student just to teach and not all parents are available and can teach. And the sad part is that we know that a new subject is about the begin the next school year. And what if these kids had not learn the basics whats next?
These may appear like a rant. I still agree with student should stay at home, I was just quite disappointed with the situation. Plus, I envy them, I only copy some of my assignments on my classmates, and they are copying the answers on the web! How fortunate. Thats a major copying in there! Grrr.
And I quite missed studying in the library. And being the first one to get the limited edition book. And you know, there are a lot of cute geniuses on library! Haha. And ugh the hot student librarian. Lol.

The student Meyzee
Kids these days missed a lot. Not just because of this pandemic but also because of the internet abuse of today's digital generation.
