I have been working with developing AI for medical purposes. Over the last 5 years I have worked to create an environment that would mimic the human mind from a biomedical research angle. Mimicking consciousness is not only a matter of programming realistic thought patterns. It also involves the chemical endocrinology system as well. In this effort I have been monitoring tiny chemical changes in the blood stream for several years. This requires massive amounts of information. Sampling needs to be taken hundreds of times a day under every conceivable scenario. Why? Because human consciousness is not only achieved through synapses firing in the brain. It also involves hundreds of various chemical combinations at any given time. These systems working together create what we call our conscience.
My ultimate goal is to create a virtual environment where vaccines and cures for various ailments are discovered in minutes instead of years.
How? If you have a disease today the process for developing a treatment is conducted by finding the culprit, then over months and most of the time years. Researchers try different approaches real or imagined and test them out to see if any have a positive effect. Imagine a program that handles this process instead. In minutes every combination of chemical and biological imaginable is tested in this environment in minutes perhaps days.
Of course there is a lot more involved than that but I hope you get the idea. I hope this sysyem will help find a cure for everything from cancer and malaria to tuberculosis in minutes. Eliminate the need for testing different ideas on animals. This is my dream. To help eliminate the suffering of millions around the world.
