Snakes
The story
Far away from the prosperous cities of the civilized world, sometimes in the foothills of the dense blue mountains, in the most secluded, inaccessible forests, sometimes on the banks of the wave-fenil bankim giri-river, on the vast horizon, the migratory snakes make their temporary nests.
He is the master of such a vagabond snake group. The name is his jewel. He is the leader of the party, the absolute ruler. Everyone in the group fears him like a yam, worships him like a god. Only a man of the party, burning with jealousy in his unceasing majesty, despises Jahar in his heart, but he does not have the courage to oppose him in public. This man's name is Bishun, he also has two followers.
In his mind he wished for death of Jahar, sometime or somehow he would crush Jahar and one day he would become a chief, he became restless in that imagination.
That day is Nag-Panchami.
Jahar went to the foothills in search of poisonous snakes. On his flute, he was playing a continuous mesmerizing melody - the flute was pounding, the wheat was pounding, the intense madness was trembling! Attracted by that tune, a poisonous Kaliyanag came out of the forest swinging its hood. In great excitement, the two stars in Jahar's eyes shone. Suddenly he threw the flute away and held his unsteady palm in front of the arrogant fan of that Kaliyanag. An intense sting at the moment. At first sight, Jahar's whole body turned completely blue with the venom of that snake. All the people in the group stood around Jahar in amazement. Jahar, however, was calm, unmoved - not the slightest sign of concern appeared on his face. In a slow, solemn voice, he began to recite the mantra, and gradually became detoxified in glory like a victorious hero. The bewildered, amazed crowd cheered in unison. Blackening his face, Bishun slowly and quietly moved away from there.
In doing so, to this day, Jahar has been poisoned ninety-nine times in his own body and has been detoxified. This is the hundredth and last snake bite. As soon as the venom of this last serpent can be pulled out of his body by magic, his strict vows will be celebrated; He will be perfect in the serpent mantra. Perfection in this mantra is the ultimate goal of Jahar's life, the only Mahabrata.
