Random Shot

Midnight.

Silent all around.

Birds are awake some nights.

Some crickets are calling non-stop.

Some barren dogs walk with tired legs.

The air inside the nose smells of something.

The neon lights of the government lampposts stay awake all night.

Sometimes some fireflies come out in droves,

Leaving behind the tree under the neon light.

The firefly forgets that the neon light is brighter than its light.
