At present, human society around the world is going through a critical period. The whole world is having a hard time because of the Corona epidemic. In our neighboring country India, on an average, about one lakh people are affected by corona every day and in America so far about six lakh children are affected by corona. Judging by all this, Corona's triumph is still all over the world!
And just as health workers around the world are struggling to stop the coroner's triumph, medical scientists are working tirelessly to find a cure for the disease. Because, for a billion and a half billion people around the world, a successful vaccine is now the only hope.
As a tropical country, our Bangladesh has got some benefits in the case of this disease, but the number of cases of corona in this country is not less. The number of patients also seems to be less as the number of tests is less. Again the number of deaths mentioned in the statistics is higher than the actual number. This is because the number of deaths due to corona symptoms in different parts of the country is going beyond the statistics.
In this situation, the accuracy of the current statistics will remain in question if the deaths in the corona symptoms are not taken into account, including the testing of samples of at least twenty-five thousand people daily. India's example is enough in this regard. In that country the proportion of daily corona is tested, in our country the proportion of the test is far away, we are not even close to it! In the country of 160 million people, the way it has been tested for the last six-seven months, it has not come close to international standards.
And to identify the corona patient and bring him under the test, the telephone number given by the Department of Health in the name of the hotline, if you call there, you will see that the matter is nothing but a joke! Because, keeping a record fit there, it is said that a doctor will speak soon. But until then. After saying the same thing over and over again, the line was cut after four and a half minutes. After hearing the matter from many people, I have called at least five times and seen the same thing happen.
Although the notification of the Department of Health always mentions fifty-sixty thousand phone calls daily, but the matter is an auspicious hoax! In this situation, the private hospitals are now taking the opportunity to take the corona test and take five-seven thousand rupees from each person. And it is not possible for everyone to get the corona test by spending that amount of money, so many people are not getting the test despite having symptoms. Many are being admitted to the hospital at the last minute.
Now the question is, why didn't the Corona test start, or start, on a massive scale after all this time? Why is our country at the bottom of the world in the case of Corona test? Or is it because of government bureaucracy; Is the bureaucratic attitude of the people concerned in the health department responsible for this? What do we lack so much that our position in the world is so low in terms of corona testing? Or is it a ploy to put the people and the government of the country in a false position?
It may be that Corona does not have much influence in the country now, Corona is almost expelled - that's why the school-college was opened; And millions of students, including children, were affected by the corona. Because, once it is said, ‘Corona will not be vaccinated, Corona will disappear just like that.’ We think that word is also relevant here.
Again, by canceling the residential facilities of the doctors working in the specialized corona hospitals, an attempt is being made to explain that these hospitals are no longer needed! We do not understand at all, how these reckless decisions are being taken? Or is absolute power being exercised in these works as well?
I think more should be said about this in the present situation. Because, in different parts of the country, including Cox's Bazar, some government officials have given birth to many incidents in the exercise of their absolute power and some still continue to do so. But as the situation in the country is relatively calm, it is not possible for the head of government or the highest authority to know or understand many such incidents.
In particular, many bureaucrats, including a couple of ministers, have been doing such things, and the Hon'ble Prime Minister is instructing them to take necessary action if there is a stir in such incidents due to occasional scattering of them. For example, the Teknaf incident. If a retired army officer had not been killed there that day, but so many cats in the bag would not have come out. However, in the vicinity of the site, some officials of the government administration caused the bleeding of the hearts of hundreds of people for a long time; At present which is being published one after another.
But the incident is not just one. Even in this peaceful environment of the country, the suffering of the people is increasing due to some officials of various government agencies. There is bleeding in the human heart. I would like to end today's article by mentioning a couple of incidents to my knowledge.
A very big industrialist, who exports goods worth at least one-and-a-half thousand crores a year, puts bonded goods in the adjacent godown after one of his warehouses burns down and is fined huge sums for failing to put the goods in the previous godown in time after repairs! He told me the incident with a lot of pain in his mind and also said that for the last thirty years he has been paying regular hefty taxes to the government and now about twenty thousand people work in his industry. But even the slightest mistake was not seen with an apologetic look. And as a reason, he mentioned, the government has set ambitious targets for the revenue department and they are doing this without any discrimination!
2. Recently, a well-known person from Mohammadpur in the capital spoke on the telephone for a long time and said, ‘Those of you who write in newspapers are also following the Telmara policy. Because, almost all of your writings are one-sided, you are also afraid to present the real thing. ' In particular, our writing does not seem to reach the highest levels of government.
In response to my words, he said, 'What is it that the content of all such big newspapers does not reach the upper echelons of the government, then how can a newspaper be the third pillar of the government?' Say it. He also said without delay, ‘Look, I live in Mohammadpur. Many of the people in my area who get off the bus at Gabtali get on my bus; Some of them are freedom fighters. Since I am over seventy years old, I know all these freedom fighters.
But the gazette and certificate of such a freedom fighter has been canceled. But the question is, who has been a freedom fighter since 1971 and who has been known and known as a freedom fighter since then, has been honored as a freedom fighter at different times from different strata of society, while allegations against him due to hatred, factionalism, enmity, envy etc. His gazette and certificate have been canceled due to payment! 'In response to his words, I said, who has to do in this case? In response, the gentleman was furious and said, 'I did not say this, we are all adopting the Telmara policy, these wrongdoings are happening, Hindu women were included in the list of Razakars, even the name of the war crimes tribunal prosecutor Golam Arif Tipu was shown as a Razakar. And only then did the government's tone change as there was a fight against all this. But there is no one to fight for this freedom fighter I know. He has to go to court. Because only the court can give him justice. '
As a person older and more respected than me, he told me this, I quietly told him after listening to him, tell me what to do after hearing this? In my words, he said a little more fluently this time, 'Hon'ble Prime Minister Bangabandhu Kanya Sheikh Hasina, after investigating through various intelligence agencies in 2000, countered the certificates of about 40,000 freedom fighters in green ink with her own hands. How to cancel? This is clearly a violation of the rule of law! Besides, to my knowledge, the Hon'ble Prime Minister has also asked me not to cancel his counter-signed certificates. '
Dear reader, I would like to conclude without further elaboration, my readers know that there is no one-sidedness in my writing; When writing, I write with some courage what should be written as a columnist. My only weakness in writing is Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman; Not a party or group.
In this situation, I apologize for my incapacity to get the criticism of my friend from Mohammadpur. At the same time, we request the highest echelons of the government to consider the extent to which it is lawful or justifiable to revoke the counter-signature of the Hon'ble Prime Minister without his approval or approval.
And last but not least, many governments have had to pay compensation from time to time for the shortsightedness, abuse of power or overuse of power by some bureaucrats or ministers in charge in the past. So it is better to follow the words of the English politician Lord Acton ‘Absolute power corrupts absolutely’. I think we should always keep a watchful eye on whether anyone is abusing or abusing power anywhere in the country.
